After morning hotel pickup, head to Seward Small Boat Harbor and board a boat that you takes you south to Fox Island. Arrive at the Fox Island Day Lodge and receive a safety briefing on your kayaking journey from your seasoned guides. Prior kayaking experience is not required, but you should be in good shape for the 3-hour paddle.
Follow your guide along Fox Island’s coast, past secluded beaches and craggy verdant cliffs. Keep watch for otters, seals and other marine life while skimming the water, and gain insight into the geological history of the surrounding archipelago.
With all that exercise comes an appetite, which you’ll satisfy back at the lodge. Settle in for an all-you-can-eat lunch of grilled wild Alaska salmon and prime rib lunch. During your sumptuous meal, listen to a National Park Ranger’s presentation on the region’s natural history.
Then it’s back on the water aboard a comfortable boat for a 2.5-hour cruise through Resurrection Bay. Snap shots of the occasional glacier, puffins flocking near the cliffs, sea lions gliding in the water and birds soaring above.
Your day tour ends with a return sail to Seward Small Boat Harbor and transport back to your hotel.
