The organization of the tour was on top level. The visas, meeting in the port, transprortation by a clean minibus, an excellent guide, tickets and very well planned itinerary. Also great communication before the trip so that we could ask all the questions we had. It was a great 2-day tour full of sightseeing and nice walks. I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes to anyone. Our guide Victoria was very fluent in English and had an extraordinary knowledge of Russian history and culture. The driver Alex was also great and always on time. We had a chance to visit all the wonderful palaces of St Petersburg as per program and had lunches in local restaurants. We were given headsets to hear the guide good on both days as we were a group of 16. The boat trip in the evening was a great opportunity to see the city from different engle and enjoy the sunset. We didn't have any special expectations for this trip but St Petersburg happened to be an astonishing city and the tour was so well planned and conducted by our guide that we will remember this tour for a long time and recommend it to all our friends.
We were lucky to visit St Petersburg in October when the museums were not so crowded already but the weather was still good. Our guide Julia was very nice and helpful throughout the tour, trying to meet our needs and wishes. Our group was only 6 persons so we were able to have the full attention of the guide and get answers on all our questions which were many. The itinerary was very complex and even thanks to being in a small group we managed to squeeze a visit to Nikolsky Cathedral which was not included in the program. St Petersburg is a wonderful city and we covered much ground walking and by bus. The driver was also very polite and helpful; the minibus was modern and clean. We had water, juice and a chocolate bar complimentary on the tour every day. I can't imagine this 2-day tour to be better than what it was. Don't hesitate to choose this tour if you want to have great time in St Petersburg
City Break literally saved our cruise trip on Norwegian Breakaway. Due to the weather conditions our arrival to St Petersburg was delayed 1 day at the last moment on the eve of the tour day. We were sure that our shore excursion in St Petersburg will be canceled or at least only held partly. Against all expectations and despite of the cruise being late 1 day and few hours, we have received a full 2-day tour completely corresponding the description. As we found out later, some other companies had to cancel one day from the 2-day tours or change the itinerary and skip visiting some museums while we followed the same program. Before the arrival we contacted the tour operator several times to understand the situation regarding the tour and always received fast answers via phone call or WhatsApp. Our guide explained us later that the company lost all the tickets on the day when we hadn't arrived and they walked this extra mile to buy the tickets for the second time and arrange the tour on the next day (which wasn't planned). Big thanks to our guide and driver for the amazing 2 days as well. We have seen all the highlights of the city, visited the spectacular museums and had delicious lunches. The tour was very well planned so that we never had to wait long to enter any attraction. I highly recommend this company for what they did for us in this complecated situation with the cruise. With big greetings from the States, Chris
Thanks City Break team for a great experience during this cruise. We were lucky to be in a small group only 6 travelers on both days. Our guide was very informative and caring, as i dur to the small size group we were able to get to the sights faster and see much more. The first day of the tour was very exciting, we had a panoramic tour and visited the spectacular gardens of Peterhof and Catheine's Palace. Our tickets were skip-the-line so we didn't have to wait at all. On the second day morning we were suggested to spend some free time as we wanted offering walking, shopping or seeing St Petersburg stadium or a local market. It was great that the tour was flexible and we could see something that was not included. Our driver was amazing, we aplauded him for the maneuvers he performed in the center of the city where the streets are narrow. The visit to the Faberge museum was the highlight of the program and it was nice to take the boat ride in the evening time on the first day too. Lunches on both days were very good 3 meals and a desert. Totally loved that there was water and juice in the bus so that we didn't have to search where we can buy it during the tour. Having seen so much of the wonderful museums of St Petersburg I am saying that I will definitely come back and use this tour operator for another trip.
St. Petersburg has been on my bucket list for years. finally made it. wonderful tour through City Break Tours with Anna as guide and Icor the driver. Super lunches at very nice restaurants on both days crowds of visitors palaces of gold and inlay floors - such excesses and opulence. no wonder there was a revolution.
Excellent 2 days in St. Petersburg made that much better with our guide and driver. She was very knowledgeable and was able to help bypass many long lines. Our group consisted of 6 people in a minivan. We covered a lot of areas and too many great moments to pick our favourite spots.....from the Hermitage, Peterhof, and even going for a subway ride.......
The tour was amazing from the start to the end. Our guide Maria was very informative, kind and attentive to our needs. She was very patient and helpful when comfort stops were needed. We felt how much she loves her job and the city which made her telling so interesting. The itinerary was very well planned and prepared. Most of all we loved the subway ride, the boat trip and Peterhof gardens. In a small group we were much more mobile than the big groups especially concerning the parking in the city center which is complicated. The driver was great. All the group was craving to have the Internet access and to our big joy the WiFi was shared in the bus. Keep up the great work City Break.
Much better than the cruise tours. Don't waste your money for overpriced excursions offered by the cruise company. On this tour we covered all the main sights of the city and the suburbs offered in the program, visited subway, tried some traditional food and all that in a small group. So much better than a bus full of people. Thanks to our guide Irine we learnt much about St Petersburg and Russia in general. The weather was not delightful but there were raincoats prepared for us by the company and even a coffee stop included upon our request to warm us up.
Most of the museums were overcrowded but the tour guide did the best to get our small party through the crowds and still see the highlights of each place we visited. Note that you need comfortable shoes to walk all those miles in the museums and outside.
Another advice to the fellow travelers is to get off the ship as early as possible upon arrival to get through the custom control. The small piece of paper provided by local operator is all what's needed to pass the control.
Thanks Irine and City Break Tours. We will definitelly choose a tour with them again.
We booked this tour short beforehand but everything went great. I had taked with the operator on the phone to ask some questions and only after realized it was night time in Russia...
On the day of the trip, due to the lines on the control we were a litlle late for the starting time but found the guide waiting for us despite our fears. Ksenia was trully amazing, her English skills were the top level and her deep knowledge of history and fun facts was amuzing. In these 2 days in St Petersburg we saw everything that was possible the Hermitage, the cathedrals, the Park of Peterhof and Catherine Palace which was incredible. The Faberge museum is just astonishing and highly recommended. The bus we had was clean and the driver always tried to park the closest to the entrances to make it easier for the group. We had Russian borsch soup, pies and beef stroganoff, coffee and deserts were also included so we did not have to pay any extras in the restaurant. Also, the guide gave us packed juice and buscuits during the boat ride that was very nice. All in all amazing service and great value for money.
Thank you! Greetings from California,
April and Elliot
