Milford Sound Day Trip from Queenstown by Coach, Cruise and Flight

I highly recommend this trip!! I am so glad we did not drive ourselves so we could enjoy the scenery throughout the drive. If you can, request Eric as your driver!! Eric is fantastic and very knowledgeable!! Due to weather our flight was cancelled the company helped us by making arrangements for us to return by helicopter with another tour company- they could have easy have said we needed to take the cruise back vs helping accommodate us. This tour was the highlight of our trip to NZ.

Well worth the time. Gorgeous weather and scenic bus drive there with a knowledgeable and fun driver/guide. Nice cruise and a great flight home...well worth the money to get ti see the mountains from up top.

Fantastic!!! Seeing the Fiordland from both a boat and then high above was spectacular and even the bus ride there enabled us to have several great stops like at the Mirror Lakes.

The Millford Sound was absolutely incredible, I very highly recommend going out to see it if you're in Queenstown. This specific tour was a really great way to experience it. The bus was brand new and had USB ports for each seat to charge phones, cameras, etc. Our driver had a nice dry sense of humor and was very knowledgable about the region. He pointed out a number of very beautiful points, backed up with interesting facts about each, and knew the answers to a number of questions posed by the guests.

The cruise was incredible in all aspects. The staff working the boat were really friendly and came to talk to each of us to tell us about the locations we were seeing. The driver of the boat took us exceptionally close to a number of interesting sites, including resting seals and a number of waterfalls.

Finally, our flight back was really cool. The bird's-eye view of the area wrapped things up perfectly. Our pilot was clearly very experienced - the area is exceedingly windy, so it's not the easiest flight, but our pilot was able to keep the plane as steady as can be.

For us, the combination of coach, cruise and flight was the best way. Glad to have joined the coach tour that allowed us to travel through Milford Sound Highway and stop by Mirror Lake, The Divide, etc. Our Grayline driver Roland was great. Milford Cruise used a smaller boat that allowed it to go near Stirling Falls which in turn gave us an enjoyable experience in soaking up glacier water. Hot beverages were on hand to warm our cold bones. Air Milford gave us a bird's eyeview of the Fiordlands and brought us back to Queenstown faster, I guess we were lucky to have had perfect weather.

Everything was well and promptly organized. Enjoyed it immensely! Recommend everyone! A well balanced combination of coach, cruise and scenic flight!

The coach trip to Milford Sound with the guide Johnno was excellent - he squeezed in as much as possible. The cruise was ok, and the flight return to Queenstown was a bit bumpy as reflected by the mountains around and the weather, but our pilot was suitably reassuring and all went well,

We loved traveling with Paulie on the coach to Milford Sound. He made what could have a long bus ride into an educational, fun trip. His knowledge about the plants and wildlife and entertaining stories about his hiking and paragliding adventures made the trip seem much shorter. Lots of stops for pics and toilet breaks. The boat ride on the sound was as gorgeous as advertised and the flight back although only 20 minutes was spectacular. Must have taken 50 pics with my phone. Definitely recommend as a perfect way to see and learn about a beautiful area of the South Island.

Fantastic trip. The only negative was a leaky bus water. The ride was beautiful. The cruise on the harbor was out of worldly. Simply a unique event. Unfortunately the weather wouldn't allow us to fly back. Next time. I'm sure the bus was a one off thing. Highly recommend!!!
