Receive a morning pickup from your private guide aboard an air-conditioned vehicle at your Beijing hotel. You’ll drive for 2 hours to downtown Tianjin to being your tour in the Five Great Avenues area.
Learn about the five major roads that crisscross this historic area, a section of town that is also home to a vast collection of several hundred European-style buildings with English, French, Spanish, Italian, and French architectural influences. Check out the Spanish villa that once was home for Da Wenshi, a British overseas scholar. You’ll also pass by the Beijing Museum and tour the early 20th century buildings along Dali Avenue and Munan Avenue.
Continue to Jing Garden, a Spanish-style complex built in 1921 to serve as the residence of Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty. After leaving Jing Garden, take a break for your included lunch. Following your meal, take a stroll along the Ancient Cultural Street, a strip where you’ll find numerous retailers selling antiques and jade items.
