Overview

Taste foods from all over Japan during a food tour that includes a walking tour and sushi-making lesson. In the historical Nihonbashi district, stop for tastings at ten different food shops inside a shopping mall. Then go to one of the largest culinary schools in Asia for a lesson on how to make your own sushi.
  • Visit the Coredo Muromachi complex to learn about Japanese foods
  • Sample ten different foods inside the shopping complex
  • Learn how to make your own sushi roll and Japanese omelet
  • Enjoy the fruits of your labor for lunch
Make your own way to the Nihonbashi Information Center to meet your guide (who wears a traditional kimono).
After introductions, begin the walking tour, which takes you on a tasting journey from the north to the south of Japan in just a short time.
Your guide brings you into several cuisine-related shops inside the COREDO Muromachi shopping complex. Learn about a variety of kelp products and how gold leaf is used, sample different foods, find the perfect chopsticks for your hand size, try a chopsticks game, and more.
After the walking tour, head over to the culinary school for your sushi lesson with an experienced cooking instructor. Learn to prepare rolled sushi and other favorites of Japanese cuisine, and bring your new skills home to impress your friends. Have a lunch of the dishes that you helped to prepare to top off your tour.

I joined this tour by myself but I was lucky everyone else on the tour was very friendly. The walking tour was very nice and we got to see the raw ingredients of Japanese food. Wasabi is a root apparently! Our tour guide wore a kimono the whole time which was really beautiful and she was informative and extremely kind to point out all of the Japanese specialties. The only thing was that the walking tour was a little long for me, I wished there was a point to rest for a few minutes. After the walking tour, she took us to the cooking class. The cooking instructor, Kiriko, was very patient and gave detailed instruction. I was surprised what I ended up making was so delicious! Also after the cooking class, the teacher sat at our table and gave us a lot of recommendations of restaurants and must-see sights in Tokyo, which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who loves food and especially Japanese food :
