Venice is hard to say goodbye to – even for the day – but the Dolomites may help you forget about it for a few hours. After meeting your driver-guide, hop in your comfortable minivan and head north through the rustic Northern Italian landscape.

The first stop is the ski resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. Take some free time here to go shopping in the chic boutiques, enjoy a coffee and dessert at a cafe or just explore the town before heading to your next stop.

Arrive at Lake Misurina, or the 'Pearl of the Dolomites,' as it is sometimes called. The lake is especially picturesque with the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the background, three distinctive peaks that tower in the distance and one of the most well-known mountain groups in the Alps. Drive toward the peaks and stop to get an amazing view.

Later, sit down at a local trattoria for a traditional Dolomite lunch (at own expense) and then take some free time to go on a stroll around the lake. Or, if you'd rather rest your legs, continue relaxing at the restaurant.

Meet up with your driver-guide at the set time and begin your journey back, arriving in Venice in the early evening.

Please note: From November 15th until Tre Cime di Lavaredo reopens (around the third week of May) this tour will visit Braies Lake and San Candido, located on the border of Austria) instead of Lake Misurina and Tre Cime di Lavaredo. From November 23rd to January 6th you'll also visit the San Candido Christmas Market.

Philip was very knowledgeable and outgoing. The drive was beautiful and the villages quaint. And the weather was cool and lovely after being in hot places from Rome to Venice for 2 weeks. W enjoyed the tour.
Beautiful trip, but needs more time!

The scenery and guide were great, but there wasn't much time at the all the stops. We got less than an hour at most places other than when we stopped for lunch.
Beautiful and Great Tour!

This tour was such a great way to see the beautiful Dolomite mountains! It is a perfect tour to go on as a family! It makes a lot of stops so you are able to get out and take pictures and explore!

Nice journey among the Dolomite mountains. Small group in a big car. The guide Nicola was very good and he is a very nice and interesting person. I think we should have stayed longer in Cortina. The smaller lake was a waste of time.
Amazing experience. A must to do if you are in Venice

Our guide, Marco was awesome. The trip was scenic and we were allowed to get down and take pictures at such spots. This trip (unlike some others) was relaxing.
Nice way to escape the busy city

Our guide, Nicolai, did a nice job as host and I felt very safe with him as our driver. The tour was okay as there did not seem to be much included but to see the sights, which were lovely. The time in Cortina was only 40 minutes. It is such a quaint and picturesque town; I would have liked to have had more time to spend there. The rest of the tour was just, okay and seemed to drag on after a while.
Beautiful Mountains

At first I understood that there would be more touring and informative discussion, my disappointment was in the fact that the 9 hour tour consisted of 5 hours in the vehicle getting to the mountains and return to Venice. The beauty of the region is exceptional not sure I would recommend a full day in Italy just to get there.
Beautiful Day!

If you have time to get out of Venice for one day, this day trip is a great option. Beautiful scenery, nice small towns, very relaxing day.
I only had one day in Venice and decided to spend it at the Dolomites. I’m so glad I did!
