Follow your costumed, in-character guide through the shadowy lanes and squares by candlelight, and discover the sinister side of this historical town. • Hear tales of ghosts, skeletons, and apparitions from a costumed guide
  • See the Peyton Randolph House, said to be Virginia’s most haunted house
  • Learn about secret vaults and tunnels connected to the George Wythe House
  • View other eerie sites including the jail, cemetery, and pillory
  • Soak in the creepy atmosphere as you walk the shadowy streets
Meet your in-character guide in colonial Williamsburg, and set off on foot through the evening shadows. Your tour is based on well-researched ghost encounters rather than historical events, so expect to be spooked.

Follow your guide by candlelight, and hear of the bodies buried behind Williamsburg’s homes and shops. Learn about the secret vault in the cemetery and corpses under the church, and stop by the house of George Wythe, an influential American revolutionary and teacher of Thomas Jefferson.

See the house well, through which it’s said Jefferson accessed a tunnel to the vault, and hear the conspiracy theories surrounding Jefferson’s visits. Watch for Wythe at the window shutters, and continue through the streets hearing tales of Dr. McKenzie, a town apothecary involved in grisly amputations.

Listen out screams said to emanate from burial grounds under the Governor’s Palace, and stand outside empty Peyton Randolph House, Virginia’s most haunted residence.

Wait for any of the unexplained sounds and sights that some experience here, and check if your camera works before taking photos!

Finish at the town pillory, perhaps daring to put your head and hands inside the stocks. Finally, part ways with your guide, bring your tour to an end.
Stop At:
Colonial Williamsburg
Follow an 18th century ghost, as you walk down the dark streets of town. You will immediately hear of the bodies, buried behind the homes and shops, throughout town. Strange stories of the secret vault, buried in the graveyard, and dead bodies still lying below the church floors, will creep you out! Speaking of the vault, move on to Mr. George Wythe’s house, where the old well still stands, today. Secrets of Thomas Jefferson’s visit down the well’s tunnel into the vault, proves the heavy conspiracy associated with this town. Mr. Wythe may just pop his ghostly face out to greet you, as he peeks between the cracks of the shutters, opening and closing before your eyes. Guests call this tour the most engaging, unique and fun tour in town. We pride ourselves on being the only in-character, costumed tour, in Williamsburg. There’s a ghost waiting for you!

Fabulous tour. The late hour makes it really spooky. Our guide was so animated in colonial time character. Be sure to leave time afterward to go back to some of the hot spots.
