We did not have the best experience. It was raining in Lucerne and we were given less than 45 minutes to stroll there which did not help our cause. At Titlis it was heavily crowded and most of the time went in us trying to get up there and coming down. At the summit all we could manage was 30-45 minutes which did not allow us to experience the Ice Flyer, Snow Tubing etc. Cannot blame our tour guide but such big tours need to be more organized as it involves a significant cost.
This trip left Zurich at around 9.45am and included one brief stop at a monument outside Lucerne, another stop for about an hour in central Lucerne, and then continued on to Mt. Titlis where we spent 2-3 hours. We were back in Zurich at about 7pm. The positives: nice/clean coach (bus); friendly tour guide. The negatives: bad weather meant that we could not go outside at Mt Titlis or do any activities there, or even go to the top station, so we sat in a cafe for most of the time (2+ hours). The tour guide had strongly advised that we should eat during our mid-morning stop in Lucerne on the way to Mt Titlis, so we ate lunch in Lucerne when we weren't really hungry yet. Then, at Mt Titlis when it was lunch time and we had a few hours to kill, we weren't hungry because we'd already eaten earlier. So we sat in the cafe and drank a lot of coffee... which we could have done anywhere. As there wasn't anything else to do there because of the weather (besides a couple of small ski/souvenir shops), we were quite bored. Overall, the timings for the whole day seemed poorly planned - with just over an hour in Lucerne, there was only time to eat (as strongly advised by the guide) but not to see anything. Prior to the main stop in Lucerne, there was a 10-minute stop at a famous monument where we could take photos, however the guide did not explain the significance of the monument so we had to go to Google for that info. Although friendly, the tour guide was uninspiring and it sounded like she was mostly reading from a script. Also, she was rather disorganised at Mt Titlis with distributing tickets for the gondola and not even telling us what time we had to be back down the mountain to meet at the coach (we had to ask her for this info). Also, we felt that she could have easily found out ahead of time what the conditions were at Mt Titlis and adjusted the schedule accordingly so we weren't waiting around there with nothing to do. We did receive a small refund from Viator because we weren't able to do the activities there, but in our view it didn't sufficiently compensate us as Mt Titlis was the main attraction of the day. We felt that this tour was not at all worth the money and that we could have easily organised the trip ourselves as a self-guided excursion for much less money.
This day trip was well worth the money. We had enough time in Lucerne to get lunch and check out the town. All tickets for Mount Titlis were included which was great and had plenty of time on the mountain!
I had a great time on this tour. Very informative, transportation was wonderful, I wish we had more time in Luzern but you can visit it on another day. Mt. Titlis was beautiful our tour guide was helpful and kind, she loan my friend her hat when she forgot hers. Overall great tour, I would recommend.
We and our children (12 and 7 years old) had a great day. The bus was very comfortable and clean. The way are very beautiful and our guide Cristina explained us a lot about the history and traditions. We enjoyed that day tour very w. Thank you!
