Coastal Iceland is home to a spectacular range of native wildlife, but to see the best of it you have to take to the waves. With this tour, cruise out into Skjálfandi Bay by traditional wooden oak boat, and watch the waters for dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. Spot colorful puffins and other seabirds with live on-board commentary, and keep warm with a refreshing hot chocolate.
A great tour around the lake Mývatn area where we see how the power of nature has formed the country and how it's still working beneath our feet.We explore beautiful spots and enjoy the stunning scenery along the way.
With diverse wildlife and a rich Icelandic culture, Grimsey Island lies off the northern shores of Iceland—but its remote location makes it difficult to reach. On this tour, take to the skies by fixed-wing aircraft and admire unrivalled views over the Arctic Circle scenery. Spot native humpback whales and puffins in their natural habitat, and sample traditional cuisine with local villagers during a 2-hour stop on the island.
This trip begins with a highlight: after a short ride on countryside tracks, we will arrive at the amazing waterfall "Reykjafoss". You will soon understand why Icelanders describe it as "the steaming falls"! Later on, you will be having fun crossing quite a few rivers on your trusted companion, the Icelandic horse. In the amazing natural paradise of the river delta Héraðsvötn you might, depending on the season, be able to watch birds hatching or pick a handful of crowberries whilst taking a short break. The terrain offers the best possibilities to fully experience the gaits of the Icelandic horse, especially the famous tölt. Please give us some details about your previous riding experience. This helps us choose the right horses for you. You can do this on the check out page.THIS RIDE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS!
A truly unique whale watching experience in the magical summer sun and everlasting daylight. The mystical midnight sun and the nature of the fjord provide a unique nature and wildlife experience. To make the tour even more enjoyable and memorable, we often shut down the boat engines to enjoy the soothing sound of the water, the whales and the birds. The Midnight Sun tour is ideal as a relaxing end of a busy day or as a beginning of a fun night in town. If you're in the mood for some light snacks or drinks, have a look at our onboard bar menu - we recommend the Whale Punch (rum infused hot chocolate)!
After meeting at Kaffi Klara, on this tour we will walk through the town, Ólafsfjörður, and visit a small market that sells traditional wool products and other designs, made by local handcraft artists. Next, a wood workshop is our next stop, where we can see the artist in action, and thereafter a fish factory where you get to taste smoked salmon and other goods. Before we end the trip by jumping into the Geothermal Pool, we will visit the Natural History Museum “Pálshús” and thereafter have a local Micro Brewery visiting us at a local restaurant with products for tasting.
