Lake Annecy (Lac d'Annecy) Tours

Surrounded by the dramatic heights of Massif des Bauges Natural Park and well-known for its vivid turquoise hue, Lake Annecy adds to a serene landscape, flanked by the grassy multi-centennial Jardins de l’Europe on one side and Annecy's idyllic Old Town area on the other. Often described as a living Savoyard postcard (some even go as far as dubbing it the "Venice of the Alps" for its quaint canals), Annecy and its lake appeal to leisure travelers and adventure-seeking watersport enthusiasts alike, with the pristine beaches and ample opportunities for swimming, speed boating, sailing and water-skiing.

Most visitors visit Lake Annecy on half-day tours from nearby Geneva to delve into the city’s rich history and wander its colorful canal-side streets. Travelers can also opt for a full-day tour of both Geneva and Annecy and hop on a scenic cruise.

Insider’s Tip: Active travelers should consider cycling the 25-mile (40-km) route around Lake Annecy, which offers sprawling views of the famed aqua-colored body of water.
