The basics

Tickets to the Szechenyi Baths include full-day access to the 18 outdoor and indoor pools, thermal baths, and spa facilities, with optional massages and treatments available. (Note that massage treatments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.) The complex also houses a bar-café, gym, sundeck, and spa shop. For a hassle-free experience, prebook your tickets and enjoy skip-the-line access through a private entrance; opt for a tour that includes hotel pickup and drop-off; or combine your visit with other top Budapest activities such as a cruise along the Danube River or a city sightseeing tour. Non-bathers can also experience the architectural marvel on a guided tour of the historic baths.

Exellent, couldn’t believe all the different pools Everywhere being continually cleaned around visitors. Yes it looked aged from the outside but otherwise very good condition Weather stayed dry and we ended sun made an appreance.

The thermal bath was amazing. The outside hot pool was very relaxing and comfortable. The indoor pools were also nice and not too crowded. Shower at the end was easily accessible. The place was well kept and clean. This was the highlight of Budapest trip.

Had a fantastic time at the baths. Getting a cabin was essential and made it a lot easier to keep belongings safe. The baths were clean and a good temperature, despite the fact that, being December, it was freezing cold moving between the two outside pools. The whirlpool was an unexpected addition but was great fun. Some staff seem very rude but others were very helpful. Spent about three hours there but could probably have managed another hour.

Ticket to Széchenyi Spa with Dinner & Cruise Combo Deal
The spa was fantastic. Quick and easy entry. Not to crowded, they have an area where you can grab some drinks (cocktails, beer or fizzy drinks). Dinner cruise was good, great entertainment, food was lovely and staff was always around. The boat does get very hot had to go outside a few times

Beautiful place! Really enjoyed the day spent here! Although there was only 1 place to get food and drinks, it didn’t take too long to get served..would recommend

Lovely spa, be prepared to be cold though at this time of year while going from one pool to another!! Definitely needs clearer signage there as abit confusing! 3 pools outside lots inside. Inside pools only accessible by going outside across the courtyards/around the pools, cafe also only accessible by going outside. Cafe good prices and good portions. Group changing rooms were clean enough, lockers and spinner to dry cossys

The playlist in the beer bath area was phenomenal! Def one of our favorite parts about that experience. The bath was relaxing and being able to drink beer while we do it was a plus! The bath house was also beautiful. We spent all day roaming around and taking a dip in all the tubs (including the cold plunge). We also got some massages while we were there which almost put us to sleep. We had a great time. We highly recommend this experience.

Ticket to Széchenyi Spa with Dinner & Cruise Combo Deal
Brilliant day out at the Szechenyi spa and to finish off a lovely evening on the river cruise followed by a candle lit meal with traditional music and dancers ,very friendly attentive staff, that went out their way to please, the tour operated was very good at communicating and always got back to me with my questions. Perfect for a special occasion for something to remember, definitely the best day we’v had in Budapest 😊

All you could ask for from a thermal bath! Lots of pools to choose from, definitely get a cabin, it was super handy to have. Bar was alright priced (2500HUF for a cocktail). Didn’t need all day there but was nice to have the flexibility. The water left our hair and skin feeling dry for days though? The Palinka tour is actually in Budapest centre, not in the bath itself but it can be done on another day. Palinka tour wasn’t the best but gave us the chance to try the traditional local spirit!

When to get there

The Szechenyi Baths are open daily year-round, and the thermal waters mean that swimming in the outdoor pools is possible even in winter. The baths can get busy, especially during the peak summer season, so to avoid the crowds, visit on a weekday and get there early to beat the midafternoon rush. For a different experience, arrive on a Saturday evening in summer, when the baths play host to the Szecska parties and stay open until the wee hours.

The healing powers of the Szechenyi Baths

The Szechenyi Baths’ thermal pools are typically heated to between 68°F and 100°F (20°C and 38°C), and are famous for their high levels of calcium, magnesium, hydrocarbonate, sodium, and sulfate. The steamy, mineral-rich waters have long been reputed for their healing properties, and many seek them out for help with conditions such as degenerative joint diseases and arthritis, as well as post-injury treatments. If that's not enough, the saunas, steam rooms, infrared sauna, gym, mudpacks, and range of massages and physical therapies are chock-full of refreshing, rejuvenating benefits.
