"I booked this experience for the day of my 46th birthday, and it is easily on my top 5 birthdays list! Ray was a fantastic guide, teaching us about everything from culture to geography to botany to zoology, and os much more! Nagarkot is a beautiful place to see the sun rise over the Himalayas, but don't expect to easily see Everest, because Nagarkot is a protected place, and trees grow. Ray was able to point it out for us, though. One thing the booking description doesn't make fully clear is that there is a hike after sunrise. You head down the mountain, and through valleys and villages, and it's fairly wonderful! The full hike is around 15-16 miles, all the way to Changunarayan, but we only did about 8 miles. Ray was very clear that there were multiple stopping options, and told us that most people don't do the full hike, and many don't even do any of it. There are opportunities for a few stops along the way, but there are very few western toilets on the route. Overall, a phenomenal experience, made even better by Ray."

"Soem our guide was excellent. He took us up the cable car to the Chandragiri temple. He explained in detail the history of the temple and a lot of the history of both the Hindu and Buddhist religions. The trek was more difficult than we expected but worthwhile doing if you are fit enough. There were a lot of hills (including a lot of steps) to negotiate and the trek would be best suited to a person with a moderate to high level of fitness. Soem ensured our safety by staying with us and not rushing us. I would also like to recommend our driver Sunil who was a good driver and was very courteous."

"We did this tour the day after the sunrise tour, and it was a great choice! Rahgu picked us up at the hotel and took us to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, where he gave a wonderful history lesson, and plenty of time to explore ourselves. We didn't take as long as we could have, and we didn't eat lunch (because we had eaten lunch at the hotel), so we ended up having a decent amount of time to kill up at Nagarkot. But Rahgu gave us plenty of information, clarified some questions we had from the day before, and, generally, was a wonderful host! The ride back to our hotel was made even better by the sight of so many homes decorated for Diwali! It was like whole neighborhoods decorated for Christmas in the US."
