Tate Modern holds the national collection of British and international art from 1900 to the present day. It is one of the largest and most visited museums of modern and contemporary art in the world. We will try to understand how abstract and conceptual art came about by looking at the paintings of such great artists as Kandinsky, Matisse, Yves Klein, Mondrian, Picasso, Monet, Richter, Natalia Goncharova and Bridget Riley, as well as some exciting examples of contemporary sculpture, photography and performance art. Do we have to like what we see in order to understand it and vice-versa? What is the place of women in art making? Are there any differences in the approach to art making between male and females artists? Can art change the world? We will talk in-depth about these and many other issues.NEJA stands for the New Electrifying Journeys through Art because our art walks let you see great art from a different angle.
