Day 1: Explore Nha Trang
Nha Trang may be a lively resort town known for its beaches, but it also has plenty of history to discover. Start at the top with the 8th-century Po Nagar Cham Towers on Mount Cu Lao, a temple named after a Hindu Champa princess and still used today for worship. Continue on to the 19th-century Long Son Pagoda with its 80-foot tall Buddha; finish up with the Cathedral, a reminder of French colonialism that is visited daily by the town's many Catholics.
Of course, no tour of Nha Trang is complete without a visit to the Dam Market, which dates from the early 1970s and is the local favorite for everything from clothes to dried seahorses to produce. This massive market is a must-see.
Day 2: Nha Trang Spa & Beaches
Start off the day with a morning visit to the Thap Ba Hot Spring Center, where you can bathe in mud baths and follow up with a relaxing swim in the mineral springs, or rinse off under the waterfalls. At Thap Ba you can also get a massage and enjoy lunch before heading back to town.
Then it's time to hit the beach. Nha Trang has several miles of beautiful beaches; visit Bai Duong beach for a calmer, quieter beach experience, or simply cross the street from your hotel, rent a lounge chair, and have your day in the sun! Nha Trang beaches are also well-known for water sports, so if you're feeling antsy you can jet ski, paraglide, dive and snorkel to your heart's content.
After a day on the beach, head back to the water for a dinner cruise, where you can have an evening of drinks, gourmet cuisine and entertainment under the stars.
Day 3: Nha Trang Countryside
Just a short way from Nha Trang is the beautiful Vietnamese countryside, which is the perfect setting for a unique day trip. There, you can take a cooking class and learn more about the history and delicacies of Vietnamese cuisine as you make your own spring rolls, rice pancakes, and famous sauces that the country is known for. Then you can take an in-depth look at rural Vietnam, traveling through towns, visiting pagodas, and speaking with locals about their daily life.
Once you're back in town, end your three days in Nha Trang with a final tour – this time, by bike. It's a tried and true means of transport in this beach resort, and you'll feel right at home as you ride along the promenade and go with the flow on the streets. Finish up with some bar, shop, and restaurant hopping on the lively streets before saying goodbye to this seaside paradise.
