Nova Scotia boasts some of the finest winery in Canada. Known for its historic maritime culture, fantastic beaches, the Bay of Fundy's record tides now add a great wine to that list. The earliest vines in Nova Scotia were planted in around 1610 by Champlain's hard-working band of settlers. It was and still is great to relax to a glass of wine after a hard day's work. Today the wine industry in Nova Scotia has grown to become a proud addition to the province's economy. We will begin our tour with the narration of the areas of our intended sites. Our first visit will be at the Domaine de Grand Pre Winery, where we will spend about two hours exploring this site. We will spend the day investigating the various vineyards where you can take in the beauty and sample their unique offerings. This is a day that is spent outdoors so please dress appropriately for this tour. Walking shoes are ideal.
Enjoy a scenic drive to the Annapolis Valley to experience 3 award winning wineries. Sip your way through Nova Scotia wine country and learn about our cool climate wines. Stop one includes a tour/tasting at the first winery. At the second winery enjoy a guided tasting and lunch with wine at Luckett Vineyards, overlooking the beautiful Minas Basin fed by the Bay of Fundy (Luckett Vineyards is only available during May-December). Finally, visit a third winery after lunch for a final guided tasting before heading back to Halifax.
Stroll through the lush vineyard of Sainte-Famille Winery and taste Nova Scotia's signature white wine, Tidal Bay, grown next to the very vines that it was produced from. You'll take a tour lead by the owner, Sue Corkum and learn about her 25 years producing award winning Nova Scotia wine. Enjoy stunning views from two deck areas - one showcasing the vineyard, the other an extraordinary view of the Avon River Valley and Ski Martock. You'll also view the production and processing areas. End the tour with tasting and enjoy the gift shop area.
This tour visits 3 unique wineries in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and provides guests with a diverse Nova Scotia wine experience. Learn about and enjoy our aromatic whites, award winning sparkling and cool climate reds. This tour is perfect for people looking to experience Nova Scotia Wine Country for the afternoon. Guests will also enjoy a cheese tasting at one winery. Please note this tour does not include lunch nor is lunch available for purchase. Guests are recommended to eat before the tour. Hope you bring your Eagle Eye as we pass Sheffield Mills a large Bald Eagle Nesting area and then your tour will continue traveling into the heart of the Annapolis Valley through a 400-year-old village of Wolfville. Then with your heart filled with wild and wonderful memories sit back and enjoy a relaxing scenic ride back to your waiting cruise vessel or hotel
