Greenland National Museum Tours

Greenland National Museum
The Greenland National Museum offers a deep dive into the culture, landscape, and ecology of this frozen island nation. Inside, artifacts and displays elucidate Greenland’s 4,500-year history, highlighting the country’s indigenous people, architectural landmarks, and geological wonders.

The Basics
The museum offers galleries lined with ancient artifacts unearthed during archaeological digs, Greenlandic handicrafts, and local artwork. Learn about the first Arctic Stone Age cultures and explore exhibits that document the Greenland’s rich history, including a collection of female mummies that were unearthed at the Qilakitsoq archaeological site. Other exhibits cover Inuit culture and offer a chronological history of immigration and settlements on the island.

What to See Near Nuuk
Greenland’s capital city is known for its rugged nature. After you visit the National Museum, explore the area’s coastal fjords, glaciers, and icebergs on a boat excursion from Nuuk Harbor, a private glacier cruise, or an ice fjord hike.
