Sunrise, Doughnuts and Coffee on the Aerial Tram

Sunrise, Doughnuts and Coffee on the Aerial Tram

star-4
5
The Aerial Tram is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC through at least spring 2022. We cannot honor bookings for this tour until the tram reopens. The early tour guest gets the spectacular views. We’ll pick you up in central downtown Portland, and take our favorite vista-filled drive across the city's western ridgeline, though pocket neighborhoods that feel like secrets. At OHSU, we’ll walk with you to the Aerial Tram. We’ll serve you craft roasted coffee and some of Portland’s best doughnuts with a view of the first morning light, then we’ll ride this feat of Italian engineering as the early sun reveals the city’s glowing colors. At the bottom, we’ll walk to a new building that is helping redefine the city’s skyline, and head up to a viewing deck that shows off Portland’s youngest (and only earthquake-proof) bridge. We'll tell you the story of the bridge and its quixotic lights, and orient you to the city whose east-west divider lies before us.

Doughnuts and Coffee Bike Tour: Local Secrets

Doughnuts and Coffee Bike Tour: Local Secrets

Portland is justly famous for both its craft roasted coffee and its doughy sweets -- ride and explore in a 6-8 mile bike tour. 10 a.m. daily. Bike, helmet, one doughnut and one coffee included! At our shop at 833 SE Main Street #121, we are also in the literal center of Portland’s craft coffee roasting icons (three of the city’s best roasters surround our block). We'll begin with coffee, tea or hot cocoa at a shop that roasts its own beans, and sample some single-origin coffee so we'll be ready for lots of sweets to come. The itinerary will vary based on doughnut shop hours, we'll typically introduce you first to a hidden gem of a shop — the one locals prefer — then head to the another favorite shop (famous for their apple fritters!) Portland’s doughnut scene isn’t just about eating pastries; it’s also about the culture that makes it possible. Did you know the doughnut-loving Homer Simpson was based off a Portlander? Which came first, the Homer doughnut or the city’s doughnut boom?
