"My sixteen year old son and I were recently in Bulgaria. Since it was our first visit, we decided to sign up for a private walking tour of Sofia which turned out to be an excellent decision. Our very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, Martin, introduced us to the important sights of the city skillfully tying them into the long and complicated history of Bulgaria. As an Archaeologist, I was particularly interested in visiting the ancient remains of Serdica which we explored despite the thick covering of snow. I'm only sorry the Archaeology Museum was closed, but it gives me a good reason to come back! Another highlight of the day was our visit to the Boyana Church with its spectacular frescoes. We finished up our grand tour with a delicious lunch at what Martin described as a typical Bulgarian Restaurant. Our favorite dish rather unexpectedly was the tripe soup which I highly recommend. Overall, our brief sojourn in Bulgaria was great. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, there is a lot to see, and the food is excellent Thank Martin, Viator, and VisitBulgaria.|Charles"

"I had a great tour. Our driver and guide were awesome. So im recommending both of them/companies. However the reason I don’t recommend this tour is because the transport time from Sofia to Skopje is very long. It takes at least 4-5 hours each way depending on the queue at the border and traffic."
