Trip Inspiration
A ship transformed into a restaurant and entertainment hub, D-Boat SXM draws visitors to the island of St. Maarten who come to eat, drink, and enjoy the Caribbean coastline from this unique floating viewpoint.
St. Maarten/Saint Martin is an island with two identities - French and Dutch. Anchored in Simpson Bay on the Dutch side of the island is D-Boat SXM, a bar/restaurant/nightclub housed on-board a converted oil tanker. Along with dining and drinking, visitors can also make use of the floating waterpark found just next to the boat, with giant rubber rings, inflatable slides, and more. If you’re looking for a taste of the St. Maarten party scene, this fun boat has plenty to offer.
D-Boat SXM is anchored at Portofino Marina in Simpson Bay on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. It’s a short car or taxi ride away from Princess Juliana International Airport, with flight connections to major cities in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
D-Boat is open daily from 5pm until late. Hours may change during low season (June to November), so check before visiting if you’re on the island at this time of year.
For a look at rum-making on the island, set your sights on Topper’s Rhum Distillery. Here you can learn about the legacy of rum-making in the Caribbean, watch the blending process in action and of course, try the local product for yourself at the tasting bar.
