One of the pearls of Albania’s natural mosaic that has begun to be explored by local and foreign tourists is Sotira waterfall, one of the most unique in Albania, located at the northeast foot of Mt. Tomorri about 60 km. from Tirana and 16 km from Gramshi town. To get there one has to drive on an unpaved road to Sotire village, and then hike for about 1/2 hour (3.6 km) on an easy trail to the waterfall.

Via Egnatia was a road constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. It crossed Illyricum, Macedonia, and Thrace, running through territory that is now part of modern Albania, North Macedonia, Greece, and Turkey.
We drive to Labinot Fushe from where we'll start our walk. At first we admire Kamare bridge, constructed by the ottomans and our walk will go in a forest trail and meadows until we reach the Via Egnatia 600 m above sea level. Our walk will continue along the road with cobbled stones until Arrëz village from where we start our way down to reach Shkumbini river and walk along it.
After the walk we drive to Elbasan for a visit, where in the second century BC, a trading post called Mansio Scampa was build. By the III or IV century AD, this place had grown into a real city but as a town in a river valley it was vulnerable to attack once legions were withdrawn but Emperor Justiniani I made effort to improve fortifications.
