Meet your historian guide outside the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan Mosque, also known as the Grand Mosque, at 9am.
Please note: visitors to the mosque must dress modestly (arms and legs fully covered) in loose-fitting clothes. Get acquainted and listen to a short orientation before proceeding with a 4-hour private tour.
Upon entry, women will be provided with a traditional abaya (gown) and headscarf if needed, and men will be given a thobe (white gown). All visitors will remove their shoes.
This masterful example of contemporary Islamic architecture was completed in 2007 and is surrounded with lush, manicured gardens. The prayer hall has the capacity for 40,000 worshippers on the world's largest loomed carpet. Explore the more than 80 domes, pillars, pools, and four 351-foot (107-meter) high minarets that grace the building.
