Your day trip starts as your depart Adelaide by minicoach for the drive into the Barossa, where your first stop is TeAro Estate in Williamstown, named after the Maori word for ‘happy home.’ Settle into the intimate tasting room inside an 1850s barn, and enjoy morning tea with treats from a local bakery before your wine tasting.

Then visit Maggie’s Farm Shop, a lakeside cornucopia of jellies, jams and glazes run by Maggie Beer, a local writer, entrepreneur and chef. Enjoy samples of specialty goods and fresh foods, including seasonal produce just picked from the farm. (If the shop is closed, which occurs during school holiday periods, you’ll have free time in Tanunda to browse Murray Street, lined with gift shops and home and craft stores, or check out the local museum or visitor center.)

Next, make your way to Lambert Estate at Angaston for a 2-course lunch of regional food from the valley, accompanied by wine tastings and gourmet platters of local produce. Opt to purchase a glass of wine from the impressive wine selection, or enjoy a coffee accompanied with the popular Chocolatier (Chocolate Port).

Finally, visit Pindarie, a unique cellar door (Aussie lingo for tasting room) designed like an Australian homestead. While a member of the staff pours your tastings, listen to stories about the wines and winery. Your day trip then ends with the drive back to Adelaide.

  • "I would recommend this tour but suggest that one of the nicer venues be selected for the lunch stop as this is a Food and Wine Tour so the food should be important as well as the wines." See review

We were 18 on tour not exactly a small-group tour as we were starting off people who were at rear of bus came forward the noise on the bus was awful the driver said that called an engine not an apology for the noise the bus was past its best and should be scrapped The trip itself was brilliant and the driver very knowledgeable but please invest in modern transport and smaller groups

Was ok. The wineries were all lovely, felt slightly rushed in some parts and often pointlessly long in other wineries. The group size was much bigger than I was expecting compared to other available tours and we were in a very large coach. For me it was just OK.

Absolutely enjoyable, our Driver was professional, polite and flexible. Being picked up at my accommodation at Glenelg was so convenient, particularly as I was travelling along. I enjoyed the whole Tour and his commentary was great. Being a bit rainy and cold added to the day, going to Wineries tasting wines and lunch was delicious and fabulous venue. I would highly recommend this Tour, thank you Viator once again.
