Begin your tour with pick-up from your central Auckland hotel by private vehicle, and soak up the scenery on the short drive out to the West Coast. Keep your camera to hand as you wind through the rugged landscapes of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park and stop to snap photos en-route to your first destination – the Arataki Visitor Centre.
After admiring the views out towards Auckland from the observation platform, head inside the Arataki Visitor Centre to learn more about the region’s fascinating Maori heritage, ancient Kauri trees, and native wildlife.
Continue through the scenic bushlands, stopping to admire the Piha waterfalls, and cool off with a swim in the freshwater pools, before arriving at Piha Beach. Here you’ll enjoy free time to stroll the beautiful black sand beaches, pose for photos by the landmark Lion Rock, or take a short hike along the coast.
Meet back up with your guide for a delicious lunch (included) at Piha Café, before traveling back to Auckland, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
