Meet a driver at your accommodations for 9am or 2pm departure, then get your bearings on a short drive through the city, passing Brunei’s Royal Ceremonial Hall and Dewan Majlis, the elaborate house of parliament.
The first stop of the day is Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, where modern Islamic designs fuse with Mughal and Italian architecture at the edge of the Brunei River.
Continue to the Royal Regalia Museum to see artifacts from the royal life of the Sultan of Brunei, from diplomatic gifts to weapons, headdresses, and an enormous royal chariot. See another fine example of Brunei’s religious architecture at Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, the largest mosque in the country.
Finally, visit the record-setting residence of the Sultan of Brunei at Istana Nurul Iman, the largest residential palace in the world. Enjoy views of the palace with the backdrop of lush hills and a winding river. If you’ve opted for the tour that includes Brunei’s sprawling water village, make a stop at Kompong Ayer before this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
