Why Travellers Choose This Tour

Learn about Thai cuisine and sample a variety of typical dishes in Bangkok's Chinatown.
Your food tour of Bangkok’s Chinatown begins when you meet your guide at Hua Lamphong, located at the border of one of the world’s largest Chinatowns. This neighborhood has been a hub of the Thai-Chinese community for more than two centuries. Your guide provides a brief history of the neighborhood as you set out on foot through the dense tangle of alleys and streets, which are jam-packed with markets, street vendors, restaurants and shops of all sizes.

With your guide in the lead, you can absorb the multitudes of scents, sights and flavors as you stop frequently to sample a range of typical and specialty dishes. Learn about the intricacies of dim sum in Thailand, sink your teeth into savory Chinese dumplings, and sample a plate of richly flavored peppered pork noodles. Visit the top-ranked roast-pork and rice restaurant in Bangkok, and slurp a refreshing coconut noodle drink in a renowned shophouse that is frequented by the Thai royal family.

Your guide points out neighborhood mainstays such as Chinatown’s most famous durian vendor. Find out how to select the best fruit, and if you’re adventurous, try the notoriously smelly durian fruit. Some people love the strong sweet flavor while others find its potent scent nauseating.

Stop into a tea shop that carries a variety of teas, including the most expensive tea in Bangkok. Watch a short demonstration of the preparation and service of Chinese tea. Then have a dessert of tasty Chinese doughnuts and try other sweets along Chinatown’s main road. By the end of your tour, you can expect to have eaten the equivalent of a satisfying meal.

Your tour ends at a central location, within easy reach of the BTS Station and other transportation. Your guide can assist you with directions to your next destination.

Please note: On any given day, participating venues and menu items may be substituted due to seasonal and/or unexpected circumstances.

This was really cool.

An excellent way to go through the maze of Chinatown's restaurants and eating joints. Our guide, Bella, knows a thing or two about the history of the different spots we went to. Some of them were restaurants several generations old while another was a stand with a Michelin recommendation from 2018. The dishes ranged from very good to excellent with a touch of SE Asia, some very spicy.

Best part of my Bangkok trip. I'm a vegetarian and booked it but they called and said they couldn't accommodate and too late to cancel so I went anyway. Guide (Pax?) Was fabulous and accommodated very well...being a veggie was no problem. Great lights and sites in Chinatown!

Our tour guide Tamie was amazing. It was like going out with an old friend. She was able to answer all of our questions as her English is very good. Tamie also gave us a lot of information about the area and the types of food we were trying along with the history. We loved this tour

I enjoyed Bella's tour-history, photos, movies, food, i had a great time talking with her. We had pork, dim sum, omelet, duck, and desserts. It was a great time and there's so much to see. If you have more time walk around.

This tour was fun. Bella provided a good mix of history and culture as well as filling us up with food. We got to explore Chinatown in a way that we would not have been able to do on our own. The food we had was delicious from start to finish. Special mention for the pork pepper noodle soup and the pork neck and chili salad. Yum!

Jung was our guide and my wife and I really enjoyed this tour of the Chinatown area. It was great to learn a lot about the history as well.
The food was not really what we expected when we think of Chinese food, so before you book this walking tour best to read all the reviews. If you choose this tour be prepared to try new foods and be adventurous.

We wished we had done this tour on the first night of our visit to Bangkok, rather than the last as this would have enabled us to go back to the places we REALLY enjoyed. Our favorite was the oyster omelette.

- This tour was good for us and took us out of our comfort zone.

Thanks Jung.

My husband I booked the walking tour of Chinatown the night before and when we arrived turns out we were the only ones that booked this particular tour so we had a private tour with Bella! Our guide was lovely and funny with great knowledge of the area. Most of the places we visited only had Thai menus which we would have usually walked past cause we wouldn't know how to order, but we were so glad to have Bella show us the way. She was able to cater to our food requirements no seafood and still pushed our boundaries of what we would usually pick. I cannot recommend this enough!

An excellent way to see Bangkok's wonderful Chinatown. The experience, the sights, the smells and the food made it well worthwhile but for me, the icing on the cake was our guide. Bella went over and above the call of duty for us. She could not possibly have done any more. Thank you and well done Bella.
