A Must Do for Families in Belfast

What an amazing experience. We were picked up at our hotel and taken around the city, while The Troubles were explained by our driver, a local, who had grown up during the years of conflict. To hear him tell a balanced history, and ensure the complexity of the conflict was understood was so valuable. We were there with a young teen (13) and an older teen (17) and he was excellent at helping them to understand how conflict can escalate and the long lasting impacts, even years later. I highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic and personal narrative of “the troubles” and tour of the peace fence in neighborhoods surrounding. Our driver was knowledgeable, personable, and very interesting to listen to. You will be outside so dress accordingly.

This was an excellent, unbiased tour of the city. Mark offered a complete history of the troubles and wove in themes of current challenges, successes and clear perspectives from both sides of the wall. His conversation was engaging and as Americans, we greatly appreciated his candor, including sharing his own experiences during the Troubles. Logistically, he was timely, communicative, set clear expectations and was flexible to meet our needs and interests.

We were in Belfast for a short break and wanted to find out more about the political history of the city. Mark picked us up in the taxi and took us round both sides of the political divide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and informative and answered all our continual interruptions with questions!
