Caffeine lovers: learn about Colombian coffee culture and the drink’s production, complex flavors, and proper brewing techniques on this small-group tour.

Begin with pickup from your hotel before heading to Arte y Pasión Café: Escuela de Baristas, where you’ll learn how coffee is transformed from small farms into the finished product. Sample the roaster’s own varieties against a mass-produced brand and learn how to distinguish the artisanal coffees from typical store-bought roasts.

Continue to a coffee roaster called Café de la Fonda to learn about the last part of the roasting process at the plantations. An expert will explain each step of production.

Next head to the market, known as Palo Quemao. You’ll have the chance to discover the bounty of fruits and vegetables produced in Colombia. As you peruse the various agricultural products, your guide helps put each item into context and links its flavors back to coffee. Take a moment during your stop to sample a few complimentary fruits and snacks, each of which helps to form Colombia’s unique culinary culture, and try a cup of tinto, the locals' name for black coffee.

Afterward, your tour will conclude with drop-off back at your Bogotá hotel.
