Why Travellers Choose This Tour

Families with children will love the aquarium's "touch tank," with hands-on access to over 100 aquatic animals.
Beginning at Central Wharf in Boston, hop on a high-speed catamaran and embark on a 3-hour whale-watching cruise to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, an 842-square-mile stretch of open water at the mouth of Massachusetts Bay that serves as a rich feeding ground for whales, dolphins, sea birds and more.

From the ship’s three outdoor decks, view humpback, fin, minke and pilot whales, plus Atlantic white-sided dolphins, harbour porpoises and more with the help of a trained naturalist. Between whale sightings, relax in the comfortable, climate-controlled indoor cabin, which features state-of-the-art sound and video systems, the New England Aquarium Education Station and a galley offering food and beverages for purchase.

This Boston Super Saver also includes admission to the world-renowned New England Aquarium. Informative and entertaining live animal presentations happen here every day, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with their favorite aquatic animals. Watch fur seals interact with their trainers. See sea stars, sea urchins, sea lions and sea dragons, not to mention snails, hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, shorebirds, lobsters, goosefish, octopus, piranhas, anacondas, salmon and many more.

The largest “touch tank” on the East Coast features more than 100 animals, including cownose rays, Atlantic Rays and sharks, and the centerpiece exhibit, a cylindrical 200,000-gallon Giant Ocean Tank featuring turtles, sharks, eels, stingrays, tarpon and many more.

This was the most amazing trip!! We left on a 10:00 am tour out to Stellwagon bank. It was scheduled to be a 3 hour trip, and they told us we would be out there longer, there was no rush, we were out to find whales!!. Our Naturalist Rich and our Captain Earl of the Aurora were amazing! We saw about 15 whales breaching in various stages, chin breach, tail breach, spinning breach.......At one point 6 whales were up simultaneously!! I stopped trying to take pictures and just marveled at what was going on around me! A truly remarkable experience. The education they provided was wonderful, their knowledge and love of these animals was awesome. I would highly recommend this trip with Boston Harbor Cruises. I would absolutely do this again!! If you doubt this just check out their web site and see the photos that Rich took!!

This was my first whale-watching opportunity, and it was amazing! Our naturalist guide was very informative, the boat was comfortable and just the right size, and we saw lot of whales! They were surfacing, diving, and playing all around the boat. The aquarium is top-notch. Lots of beautiful and interesting exhibits. A great day overall!

A great trip. I would recommend this to anyone who has 1/2 day to see the wonderful whales. We saw quite a few Humpbacks. The Tour guides were amazing and provided great information.

Fantastic outing. Beautiful day and whales jumping out of the water. Even the staff were amazed.

Not enough places to sit, too many people fought over the few seats there were. I prefer getting closer to the Whales, and this boat was just too big to do that. Otherwise the staff was wonderful, the boat was clean and the day was gorgeous

Grossartige Tour.

Fabulous trip. Saw lots of whales weather was great . Everyone on the boat was very nice and helpful. They seemed to know a great deal about the whales and were happy to share their knowledge

The whale watching cruise was exceptionally amazing! We saw more whales than we could count. The staff did say this was unusual but they also said that they give rainchecks if everyone on the bus does not see a whale. The staff was very helpful, especially for those who experienced motion sickness. They were also very knowledgeable about the whales. We were a little bit disappointed in the aquarium. It was very crowded, there wasn't quite as much to see as we had hoped, and the traffic didn't flow very smoothly. They have one elevator and that's definitely not enough to service those who need it.
