Harvard University doesn’t really need any introduction. The private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, MA, was established in 1636 and since that time, its history, influence and wealth have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world. It’s listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and it’s a U.S. National Historic Landmark District.

On this exclusive Harvard campus tour, meet the guide and students who will provide an inside look at college life in Cambridge and start this 1-hour walking tour of the university.

Begin at Harvard Yard, an area of just over 22 acres that’s enclosed by fences with 27 gates. Not only is it the oldest part of the campus, it’s also the center of its history and the crossroads of its modern-day campus with dorms, libraries and classrooms. Check out Old Yard with Harvard’s oldest building, Massachusetts Hall. Then head to Harvard Square near the center of Cambridge, with everything from bookstores, coffee houses, fine dining and pizza to old theaters, public art, street performers and world-class music.

Finally, if you'd like, choose to explore the Harvard Museum of Natural History, the public face of three research museums: the Museum of Comparative Zoology, the Harvard University Herbaria, and the Mineralogical & Geological Museum.

We changed plans so we could accommodate a tour that we saw was available on Viator. At the time the tour was supposed to take place, no one showed up, no e-mail/phone call was sent to let us know that there was no tour. After we made phone calls and sent e-mails, someone finally reached out to us... the next day! We stood waiting for nearly half an hour outside at the meet up location, and even approached several people to ask if they were the guides. Apparently there was a glitch in the system that allowed that event to be purchased when it should have been closed. Hopefully this was a rare occurrence and no one would ever have this issue again.

Great tour, very insightful and Daniel was a great tour guide. Only slight downside is you couldn't enter any of the buildings.

The student guide provided the personal view of Harvard life that simply walking round campus individually would not, the student stories were very entertaining.

Tour was not good. They let as many people as possible so you can not hear the guide. Our group had 100 people mostly families visiting from China they kept talking.
Tour was average nothing special. Would not recommend.

We had an excellent time on this tour. Our guide was Fillip apologies if I spelt that incorrectly, but he did say Phillip with an 'F', a Harvard student who originated from Macedonia. We learned a great deal about the history and traditions of Harvard and we were fortunate to have a sunny not rainy November day all the while. We also greatly enjoyed the Museum of Natural history that was included. It was MUCH larger on the inside than it first appeared and we spent hours perusing all the exhibits.
