The Tulum Ruins are among the most visited Mayan sites on the Yucatan Peninsula, but they have the crowds to match. This early-access combo tour ensures you get there before the tour groups and combines it with an afternoon visit to the Rio Secreto Nature Reserve. Tour includes lunch, hotel pickup, and entrance fees.
  • Full-day combo tour of Tulum Ruins and Rio Secreto Nature Reserve from Tulum
  • Marvel at the Mayan ruins of Tulum on an early-access tour
  • Enjoy swimming and caving in the Rio Secreto Nature Reserve
  • Tour includes lunch, hotel pickup, and entrance fees
  • Combine two best-selling tours into one on this great-value combo tour
  • Small-group tour limited to 15 people ensures a personalized experience
Begin your day with an early-morning pickup from your central Tulum hotel. Head straight for the Tulum Ruins and make the most of your early access to admire the impressive ruins before the tour buses and crowds arrive.

First, visit the ruins on a guided tour, learning more about the ancient Mayan Civilization and the history of the walled city, which was once an important Mayan stronghold. Take in highlights such as the Castle, the Temple of the Frescos, and the House of the Cenote; admire spectacular views along the Caribbean coast; then enjoy free time to explore the ruins independently.

Continue to the Rio Secreto Nature Reserve and after meeting your guide and listening to the safety briefing, get suited up in your caving gear and venture underground to explore the natural caves. Follow the underground river, swimming or wading the turquoise waters, clambering through the rocky caves, and stopping to marvel at magnificent stalactites and stalagmites.

After the caving excursion, take a hot shower, then relax and refuel with a delicious buffet lunch.

Back in Tulum, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

The problem with this tour is that it was with Amigo tours. They are very poorly organised despite it saying hotel pick up they had us pay for our own taxi to meet them at the ruins. They didn't call us or look in the other car park that we had mistakenly been stood waiting at. we had to run to catch the guild at the entrance. Things got much better as the guild was fabulous he was very knowledgeable and friendly. following the tour of the ruins we were put on a none English speaking bus then changed on the main road to another one not knowing what was going on and left at the reception of the Rio Secreto. I would advise visiting these places on your own especially if your staying in Tulum its easy and the taxi's are cheep and drivers friendly. the tour of Rio Secreto was wonderful so beautiful, this was let down by the fact you were not aloud to take in your go pro and then they try to charge to 25 US dollars per photo or 100 for the lot

The tour itself was fine, but going through Amigo Tours was an absolute mess. I was staying in Tulum and the package offers to do a pick-up and to confirm a pick-up time/place beforehand. Since I was not sure if I could make a call to Mexico I'm from US, I emailed the email address given and the Amigo Tours rep gave me information different from what my friend who came on this tour too got over the phone. The pick-up times and places were different which is utterly confusing when you are a visitor and don't know the area well! Horrible communication and wrong information given. We had to call multiple times to reconfirm. Then we showed up at the pick up spot at 7:45am as stated by the Amigo Tours rep, the driver showed up AN HOUR LATER. Waiting for a driver to pick you up on your first excursion of the Tulum trip is NOT a good impression/experience! Also, the boxed lunch was never given because it was not communicated how to obtain the boxed lunch but apparently the lunch is given by Viator and not Amigo Tours, which was also not communicated. I don't know how I would've been able to figure that one out unless the proper reps told me. Tulum Ruins were cool and Rio Secreto was really cool. But you can DEFINITELY just pay for admission into these places separately not go through Viator and get a far better experience than dealing with delayed pick-up, not receiving a boxed lunch, and horrible communication.

The Tulum ruins and Rio Secreto were incredible. alfredo at the rio secreto was amazing - he is passionate about his work and super knowledgeable. it's a must see. the ruins are fabulous and worth a visit my only issue was that I wouldn't do the combo tour - I'd book it each activity on different days.. amigo tours were a little disorganized... and there was a lot of driving around dropping off people at different hotels which was a total waste of time the actual places are must sees though.

The trip to Tulum Ruins was very enlightening. We learned a lot about ancient culture in Tulum. We especially enjoyed our tour of the caves in Rio Secreto. Our tour guide was excellent and the view within the caves was magnificent! This tour is a must!!
