  • Stop to swim in a natural cenote, or limestone sinkhole
  • No horseback riding experience necessary
  • Learn about the flora and fauna of the Yucatan
  • Snacks, water, and towels provided
  • Round-trip transportation from Cancun or Playa del Carmen
Choose from several departure times for convenient pickup from your Cancun or Playa del Carmen hotel. In a comfortable tour vehicle, travel to Rancho Bonanza, where you'll be introduced to your horse. Riders will be matched with horses based on experience level; riders of all levels can be accommodated. Horses at Rancho Bonanza have been rescued, rehabilitated, and retrained.
Spend the next portion of the tour exploring the jungle, observing and learning about the local flora and fauna as you travel. You'll also learn about the local practice of making bubblegum from materials found in the peninsula's forest. One you reach a natural cenote, or limestone sinkhole, dismount for a swim in the cool water. Towels will be provided for you, but please bring your swimsuit if you plan on swimming.
Return to Rancho Bonanza, then catch your ride back to Cancun or Play del Carmen for drop-off.

Nicely run ride.

This ride would be good only for the beginning rider or intermediate rider. All dense jungle, no beach, nothing more than a walk in single file. The staff was EXTREMELY professional and safety conscious. Horses were WELL cared for, barn and surrounding area VERY clean. Informative and a good getaway activity from the resort life.

My younger daughter is 7 years old and didn't have experience before. The crew took care of her very nicely all the way by leading her horse carefully. All horses are very well trained! Nelson talked about local culture and nature, which were informational! We also swimed in the small cenote, which certainly was not the best but my daughters loved it!
Fun, easygoing horseback ride for the family

Our family of 4 really enjoyed the guided tour through the jungle, and hearing about the mayan legends around the cenotes & local flora. Horses were gentle and tame for our kids who were first time riders. The cenote swim was quite spectacular, and the guides were charming. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful setting and opportunity to have fun on horseback while enjoying and learning a little about natural features in the area. Horses are obviously well loved and cared for. Swim in cenote was most refreshing! Horses were matched to ability so it is fun for all levels. Guides were friendly and entertaining. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I went on the horseback tour. Armando was our guide and he did a great job. We enjoyed talking with him and found out we had lived in the same town in Texas. The trail was nice and the horses were easy to control. It would have been more fun to take the trail with the horse galloping but can’t do that on the trail rides with newbies. The cenote was very cold but it felt nice since it was hot. Happiness the dog joined us. Happiness is really good at staring contest.
great time and great guides

Alma and her crew were great! The horses were easy to manage even for inexperienced riders and the the guides were funny and informative. I did not swim but some of my family did and really enjoyed it. They missed getting 5 by having outrageous prices for pictures. We would have bought some but they were way too pricey. We did another excursion where the cost was very reasonable.
