Get comfortable inside your top of the range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach and depart central Edinburgh to Loch Ness and the Scottish Highlands, stopping along the way to hear insightful commentary from your guide.

Pass by Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, and Linlithgow Palace—the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots—en route to Glencoe, a Highland glen filled with eerie tales about the Clan MacDonald massacre of 1692.

Journey onward through the 18th-century Fort William, and gaze out at the Scottish Highlands, including the Great Glen. Reaching Fort Augustus, disembark on the shores of Loch Ness, where you can opt for a seasonal boat ride on the loch and listen for the Loch Ness Monster ‘Nessie’ on the sonar system. (Cruises run from Easter to the end of October.)

After you purchase lunch (own expense), continue your drive to Cairngorms National Park via Spean Bridge village. Take in the views of Loch Laggan and the windswept mountains, including Craig Meagaidh, where the TV series Monarch of the Glen was filmed.

Your scenic journey continues over the Drummochter Summit to Pitlochry. After exploring this Victorian town, your tour concludes with the return drive to Edinburgh.

Went on this tour yesterday with my partner. Cosy 16 seater bus with a charging port for your phone (for all those photos!). Beautiful drive through the Scottish Highlands. Our tour guide Bruce was friendly and passionate about his homeland, very informative and interesting commentary. The tour stops briefly at destinations 10-15mins except for the hour lunch stop at Lochness. We found this adequate for good photos . Had a good time :-)
Got sick - No refund

This was our honeymoon. I was sick from the previous Viator tour and therefore was not able to go on this tour without throwing up on the way. Was not refunded the cost of the tour.. Bummer!
Good for all ages and the best way to get a real feel for Scotland

A comfortable ride with many, many stops. The stops were quick and meant to provide a stretch or photo op but it was more than enough. If you just want to get a quick look at things and then return to explore at length then this is the way to do it. You have to understand that you are covering a great deal of the country in just 12 hours - so dress appropriately and bring your camera. You will be able to grab snacks, drinks and lunch along the way and the driver will provide you with historical info as well as helpful suggestions. We did not chose to do the boat cruise at Loch Ness and instead opted to grab some lunch and wander a bit - I would chose this again. Again, you have to understand you’re only stopping at most places to snap a photo. This was perfect for our family as we were short on time but wanted to see the highlands. We know we will be back to explore more in depth and now we know where we will go. Everything was as advertised and it was an excellent value. I liked the small group of just 16 because it was easy to get off and on quickly when we just wanted to stop and see something such as the highland coos.
Great Day Trip to the Highlands

This was a wonderful day trip to the Highlands of Scotland! Our guide had a wealth of knowledge including local legends and origins of well-known songs. Our guide/driver kept us entertained the entire day and made frequent stops so we could get pictures and stretch our legs. It allowed us to see parts of Scotland that we would not have otherwise seen (because I wasn't renting a car!).
Great local guide!

John was an amazing guide! He told a lot of historical stories and he was very well informed about the areas we were in. Each tour differs based on where the guide wants to stop. John knew a lot of great stops and made sure we were all happy with our photos and experiences. I personally think Loch Ness was super overrated and should have just been a quick photo stop, but I think that is an unpopular opinion. I wish we had longer in the BEAUTIFUL Glencoe area!! Thanks again John, you’re awesome!
Great Way to Get a Taste of the Highlands

The trip was well-planned out and our driver, Jim Scott, was fantastic. We were able to see a lot and Jim was able to provide a lot of history and funny anecdotes. He was also very helpful with photography tips!

This tour was by far the favorite of the three we completed on our trip. Our guide Ally was sooo informative and kept us awake the entire journey (long 12 hours). The highlands were breathtaking. We made plenty of stop with adequate time. I recommend.
Wonderful Day in the Highlands!

The highlands were so beautiful but what made this trip so wonderful was our driver, Duncan. He mixed our trip with informative and historical information along with fun stories and even a sing along. We stopped for breaks at the most beautiful places for photos and walking. Longer breaks allowed for shopping and meals. We booked the day trip thinking it would be an easier way to see the Highlands. It was so easy but Duncan made the trip so fun. We learned a lot even during his corny jokes.

A long day but well worth it even if it rained most of the time! Would recommend this trip as you get an insight into Scottish history.
