Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Michael, our guide, and our bus driver, Gunter, were quite funny and made the tour a memorable one.

Iconic scenery along the UNESCO part of the Rhine. Our guide Michael was efficient, personable and entertaining. Definitely a great experience in this tour!

Great guide. Great views! Great arrangement!

The cruise on the Rhine River is wonderful. It was very relaxing while taking in the sites. It was challenging to hear the history being told over the speakers on the boat. The restaurant seating for lunch was tight and it was the same location for the wine tasting but it was fun. Our bus had an air conditioning problem and the water was leaking from the cargo shelf above. The driver and the tour guide did everything they could to make the passengers comfortable.. even handing out umbrellas!

It was lovely to see Rhine river from Frankfurt with this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. Lunch was at a cute decorative restaurant with yummy ice wine. It's a great way to see the highlights of Rhine River.

There's a lot of positive in this trip, but enough negatives to offset a really good review.

On our way to the cruise we had time to stop at a Statue with great views of the river valley and then take a chair lift down to lunch--warning--the chair lift isn't officially on the tour and you will be charged extra for it. It was a delightful ride though. We paid our tour guide directly for this and i was a little annoyed to find, upon exiting the chair lift, that he had charged more than the actual cost of the ticket. What happened to the extra funds? If we had simply been told he was asking for extra for a tip i would have been happy with it but he didn't even mention the overcharge.

The restaurant was cute, but warning--the food is bleh and you will be aggressively sold on upcharge items and no drinks are included in the price even water. Our lunch was a completely plain fried chicken patty and french fries--both of which seemed like they started as a frozen food product. We fell for the upselling and had one sample sized glass of ice wine and a strudel--for 23 euros!

The cruise itself is quite lovely. It only lasts about 1 1/2 hours but covers the most scenic section of the river. We saw castle after castle. The boat was comfortable and had both indoor and outdoor seating options.

After the cruise the trip went downhill. It was over 80 degrees close to 29 Celsius that day and there was no air conditioning on the bus--nor did the windows open. The tour guide eventually told us something was wrong with the air conditioning but i noticed others reviews here mention it here so either they have an ongoing maintenance issue or they don't want to spring for a/c. It got really uncomfortable on the bus.

We finally arrived at our 'wine tasting' where we were shuffled back to the bar side of the same restaurant. On tables were sample sized plastic cups pre-filled with a tiny portion of wine at the bottom--barely a sip. Please don't think this is an exaggeration--I've been to plenty of wine tastings and this one was a joke. The tour guide went through a spiel about the wines and it became clear two of mine were out of order based on the description. We were hot and dehydrated from our very unpleasant bus ride, and the tour guide had the nerve to say that usually people drink water in between samples to cleanse the palette but that he wasn't providing us with any. This whole portion of the trip was very disappointing.

We made one other stop at a tourist strip along the road. I'm not sure why we stopped but at least we were able to buy some bottles of water because it was clear that despite the malfunctioning bus we were not going to be provided any.

Our guide George was friendly, but clearly focused on upselling items--definitely gave us the impression that he was getting kickbacks if he got us to buy stuff, which gave the whole trip a bit of an infomercial feel and his 50's era sexist jokes fell flat for many of us.

Would i recommend this? If it is your only way to get access to the river for the cruise then i suppose so, but if you have any other way to access the point of the river for the cruise it was really the only worthwhile portion of the trip and i would guess the charge for the boat is a fraction of the total tour cost. Bring water.

The Rhine cruise is something I had waited to do for a many years now. Finally had a chance to take this trip few weeks back. It was a 6 hour trip and we didn't expect the actual cruise boat ride to last only 1.5 hours, rest of it was only bus ride. The boat ride was amazing though! The view on both sides of the river were breath taking and the experience was memorable. the trip guide gave great insights to the history, geography of the area. The dinner was quite a let down, just one course meal. Wine tasting was also not anything major to talk off. Found the cost quite exorbitant in that sense.

Great tour and great tour guide. The locations we visited were all beautiful with a rich history and great sights. Lots of opportunities for great photos both on land and on the river.
We took a bus from Frankfurt and made a few stops along the way before reaching the river. The river cruise lasted about 1 1/2 hours. The views on the river were stunning. The crowing achievement was the Lorelei rock and statue the statue is after the rock so be prepared with your camera!. Beautiful villages along the way, so much so my wife and I were trying decide which house we would want to live in!
At the city we at stopped before the river, my wife took the ski lift down to the bottom and she got some great photos of the area. It had beautiful views of the Rhine. She had to pay an extra 10 euro for that but she felt it was worth the money.
The ship was great and we went on the first day they started the tours so there wasn't a ton of people on the ship. The ship also offers drinks at extra cost. We were able to go topside and get some great views and pictures of the Rhine valley and all the castles! It was the best part of the whole tour!
My only complaint comes about the food that they offer. They took us to a really cool looking restaurant. It looked like a place where the food should have been better than what we got. They served Schnitzel with fries the fries looked and tasted like American McDonalds fries that had been sitting out for a bit. The Schnitzel was medium sized, plain, and tasted like it was frozen then re-heated like a frozen dinner from the supermarket. It didn't taste bad but I thought it would have been restaurant quality not re-heated from frozen at home quality. The German food I had previously eaten even at the German train stations! was so great that I was really expecting better but instead we got more of what I would have expected from a cheap tour in the US. Also, they served Apfelstrudel for dessert but, spoiler alert, it was at extra cost, not included in the lunch. They might have mentioned this online but I don't remember reading about it and they certainly didn't say anything when they were taking orders for it so I wrongly assumed it was at no extra cost. It was around 8 euro per dessert. It was not very good. A dessert from your typical Germany bakery would knock your socks off for far less money. This tasted like a processed American pastry. So I felt overcharged and underwhelmed by the food. I would have gladly paid more money for this tour had it included a full meal that was Germany quality.
Overall it was a great experience. Improve the food and this would be a great tour to take that would offer a high quality German experience that would leave me wanting more.
