Make your own way to Geneva bus station on Place Dorcière in time for an 8.30am departure. Traveling by comfortable coach, head out of the city and admire the snow-covered scenery of the Swiss and French Alps as you cross the border into France.
After an around 1-hour drive, arrive in the mountain village of Chamonix, at the foot of the magnificent Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain. Set out to explore the town’s atmospheric Christmas market, both with and without your guide, and spend time shopping for crafts and gifts, sampling delicious festive foods (own expense), and admiring the dazzling illuminations. Depending on the day of your visit, you might also get to enjoy Christmas parades, shows, live music, or visits from Santa Claus.
Finally, take a ride on the Mont Blanc cable car (optional; extra cost) and marvel at the spectacular snowy landscapes of the Alps from a height of 8,860 feet (2,700 meters) – on a clear day, you can see as far as the Mattherhorn, one of Switzerland’s most famous peaks.
On return to Geneva, your tour ends back at the bus station around 6.30pm.
