Completely worth it!

Despite it being a bit rainy and gloomy the trip was well worth it! We got to see and explore so much more than we had imagined and our tour guide was simply wonderful!
Stunning scenery

Overall great trip. Let's face it, it'd be difficult not to have a fabulous time journeying through the Isle of Skye. I selected this trip because it included the fairy pools (many day trips from Inverness don't), and I'd read wonderful things about the main tour guide, Wendy. The tour was a total of 13 hours, which was expected and absolutely fine by me - more time in the Highlands! Unfortunately though, we didn't get a full appreciation for a couple of the key sites as our guide, Kenneth, wanted to avoid the crowds wherever seemingly possible. Understandable, however this meant we missed the beautiful, mesmerizing views and shots. For example, we stopped to see the Old Man of Storr from so far away, you could only see a tiny part of it way in the distance and it wasn't worth taking a photo. You couldn't tell what it was. Driving through the Quiraing was INCREDIBLE, and we did have a quick 15 minute stop to individually explore, but again, it was away from the crowds (which meant away from the best views!). So disappointing. I felt our guide's commentary lacked greatly in quality and content, wishing we'd heard lots more about the Isle of Skye and much less about his views on traffic and tourists. He was very friendly though, prompt on pick up in the morning, stayed true to his word, and didn't make us feel rushed when we did stop. It was incredible visiting the Fairy Glen (30 mins at lunch, would've loved more time there) and the fairy pools (1 hour). I left wanting more of the Highlands and will certainly be back.
