Make your own way to Inverness Bus Station to meet your guide in time for an 8:35 am departure. Traveling aboard a luxury 34-seat mini-coach with onboard WC and air-conditioning, set out on the scenic journey through the Scottish Highlands.
Along the way, learn more about Scotch whisky and the Speyside whisky region from your guide, then taste it for yourself as you enjoy whisky tastings at some of the region’s best distilleries. During the tour you will visit five different destinations:
Enjoy an advanced distillery tour and discover the secrets of malt whisky production, followed by a tutored tasting of three specially selected drams.
After sampling three drams of Glenlivet whisky in the excusive tasting room, enjoy free time to browse the shop, sample some whisky cake (own expense) at the café, or browse the exhibitions and learn more about the distillery’s history.
Go behind the scenes at the family-owned distillery, sampling a dram of whisky in the bonded warehouse, then heading to the elegant Ship’s Room to sip more Speyside malts.
Take a break from whisky tasting and discover Scotland’s only working cooperage, where highly skilled coopers use traditional methods to restore and repair casks. After watching a 4D audio-visual presentation, take a peek in the workshops and admire the work of the coopers, then perhaps have a go at making a mini-cask for yourself!
Savor the rich taste of Aberlour whiskies during the final tasting of the day, and perhaps pick up some bottles to take away with you.
On the way back, pause to soak up the scenery and take photos of landmarks such as Ballindalloch Castle and the 18th-century packhorse bridge in Carrbridge.
After an action-packed day, your tour ends back at Inverness Bus Station around 6.45pm.
