This walking tour begins in the Old City. Meet the expert guide who will lead the group on this half-day tour covering 4,000 years of history. Learn how Jerusalem became the spiritual center of the world for Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Visit the Temple Mount, also known as the Haram, one of the most important religious sites in the Old City of Jerusalem. This is the site of King Solomon’s First Temple. Visit the golden Dome of the Rock shrine, one of the oldest works of Islamic architecture and Jerusalem’s most recognizable landmark. This is where the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven. There’s also the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which stands on the hill of Calvary, where Jesus was crucified and buried. Other points of interest on the tour include Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam; the Western Wall, the holiest of Jewish sites; the Last Supper Room, where Jesus shared the Last Supper with his disciples; the Tomb of King David; and so many more. After seeing all the sites, return to the city walls, where the tour comes to an end.
Our tour-guide Jacob was really excellent, very knowing which considering the history of Jerusalem is really admirable. While the 4-hour tour might appear a bit too short and covers only the main sites of Jerusalem, it did suit us very well, since we've had to leave a bit earlier to get back to Tel Aviv. Besides that, Jacob was amazing also in conveying small anecdotes and information relating to the sites we have visited, as also the city itself. Amazing city & amazing tour!
We did not get our trip as there was no one to meet us, no one told us that when our ship docked we had to pay more money to get to Jerusalem this was not explained when we booked, it was the trip of a life time & we missed out I think we should have a refund for all the upset we were caused, Alan & Carol Parker.
This was an excellent informative tour. Our guide, Anat, was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I don't usually book tours but wanted to know the history of the old city. I am glad I chose this tour - Anat was an excellent orator - I learned a lot and had a great time!
This tour was a good introduction to all of the important holy sites in Jerusalem. Our guide Paul did a good job of covering the itinerary for the most part, but he was a bit aloof and didn't want to engage with us beyond what was required of him. The lunch spot we stopped at was excellent and we learned a good deal. Overall, it's still worth taking the tour to cover the important sites and get additional information that you wouldn't get without a guide.
Tour didn't start till 11am which is too late on a hot day. The Spanish version of the tour alongside us made it hard too listen, as did the overly large group.
We couldn't visit Temple Mount as it was Ramadan so it shut by 11am, which we should have been told before the tour when we could have chosen to cancel.
We did see several sites, we got an overview of parts of Jerusalem, it was probably worth doing, but it was a hot sweaty 4 hours.
Good overview of the Old City. Lunch was pricey and not worth the money. If you are looking to hit the major sites of the Old City and get a basic familiarization, this tour is for you. If you want a more in depth or personal tour, this is not the tour for you.
