The meeting point of the 12-hour safari will be Gavi gate resting place and you will be picked up from your stay in Thekkady to reach the venue by 5:30 am. With a guide and a driver to lead you on this trail of adventure, watch the sun rise, the shafts of light piercing through the mists slowly lifting cover. You will be on-road winding past tea plantations, tropical forests, grasslands, cardamom plantations, gurgling waterfalls as you go deep into the forests of Gavi. A halt at Gavi dam followed by breakfast and a boating in the Gavi river would keep you kicked in with the fresh breather. A bit of off-roading stretch will thrill you to the bump and bounce, in the open jeep. Not to mention the lash of the wind against your face would send that tingle of excitement to make you experience the spirit of the wild.
The drive will take you through Gavi village, Kochumba etc and a breakfast halt en route will keep you on high octane to match the spirit of your vehicle all raring to wade through the thickets. You will come by some rare species of flora that would be worth numerous snapshots from different angles. With around 25 km of trekking trails in and around Gavi, you can get on foot for an up, close and personal encounter with the wild.
