What To Expect

Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your central Ljubljana hotel or other meeting point. After a brief introduction with your guide and fellow travelers, settle in to your comfortable minivan and set off for the journey to your first point of interest. Admire the views from your window as you travel into Slovenia’s green hillsides.

First up: Lake Bled, an emerald lake surrounded by dramatic mountains. After a brief stroll, board an apletna (a Slovenian wooden boat) and journey to the tiny island in the center of the lake—Solvenian’s only island. Explore the island as your guide reveals its fascinating and quirky history, while pausing for photos along the way.

After, it’s a quick drive to the Vintgar Gorge, a must see. This stunning canyon is known for its grand walls that rise 330 feet (100 meters) into the sky. Nearby you’ll discover Šum, a beautiful waterfall that drops 85 feet (26 meters). Enjoy lunch on your own (additional expense) before heading to Bohinj, Slovenia’s largest glacial lake. Take advantage of free time to rent a canoe (own expense) or to swim in the lake’s cerulean waters.

Before the tour winds to a close, stop at the town of Škofja Loka, which has a fairytale castle and the oldest bridge in Central Europe. Take some time to explore the quaint town and take some photos as the sun begins to set. You tour ends back at the starting point.

One note: the Vintner Gorge can be a bit tough if you are uncomfortable with many stairs as my dad was.

The scenery was amazing and can definitely recommend going in the lakes for a swim!

This was a great tour of the gorge and two big lakes that I really wanted to see outside of Ljubljana. It was much more convenient than renting a car or trying to figure out publix transport to/from. Slovenia is breathtaking! I definitely recommend!

I had a great time on the tour. I liked that it was a small group and I had the opportunity to interact with everyone. Our guide Anamarija was great and was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. We spent most of our time in Bled which was lovely, but I really enjoyed Bohinj and the Vintgar Gorge. The views are incredible. I highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely great tour of northwestern Slovenia. Our tour guide, Klemen was very informative, helpful, and kind. He answered all our questions to the best of his ability and gave interesting stories about places we passed. He also gave mini-tours around Skofia Loka and Bled Castle! My friend's favorite place was Lake Bled, with the plenta boats, friendly people, and beautiful blue water while mine was the gorge with the walkways crossing back and forth over the river. We did all the activities excluded in the price (plenta boat, church on the island, Bled Castle, Vintgar Gorge) and I'd say all of them were definitely worth it! However, if you plan to swim at Lake Bled or rent a kayak or paddleboard, I'd skip the plenta boats and the island church to have enough time for that.

Primoz was an excellent guide. He made sure we had all of the information we needed at each stop. The scenery is amazing and so worth going on. i would have liked more time in Vitnar gorge. I think we could have skipped the visit to Skofja and spent more time in the gorge

This trip was fantastic. The driver/guide was very friendly and informative. We drove around Lake Bled, then headed to the castle. After visiting the castle, we headed back to lake level for out boat trip to the island. We had plenty of time to explore the church, even going up to the top of the tower. Next stop was Lake Bohinj. We had a couple of stops, one to eat lunch, then to our final destination, the Vintgar Gorge. The gorge is magnificent with an interesting walkway along the river. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

Klemen was a good tour guide showing us the beautiful locations in this tour. He kept a great pace and offered breaks as needed. He is very knowledgeable about Slovenia and these sights which makes the day very interesting and quick. Lake Bled is like a fairytale and was hiking in the gorge was a highlight. Bring comfortable walking shoes as the hike takes over an hour and may be muddy at the end.

Slovenia’s Natural Beauty

We had a wonderful almost 12 hour day exploring the beautiful countryside of Slovenia with our amazing guide Jon. He was a fount of information about the culture, history and people and very easy going and pleasant to interact with. We had a small group of 5 doing Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj and Vintgar Gorge and it was amazing to walk through Vintgar Gorge in all its splendor and be the only ones there experiencing that nature. What a great day trip! We saw so much, and our guide, Primus, was so responsive to the group’s needs. It was a rainy day, so he kept a constant eye on the weather so that we could miss the majority of the bad weather. He was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting, but he was also super easy going and able to read when the group wanted more or less guidance or info. The sights were also fabulous. I truly enjoyed everything we saw, but I think Vintgar Gorge was my favorite. Highly recommended!
