Appreciate Slovenia’s green countryside during the drive and learn about the mixed glacial and tectonic formations of Lake Bled. Hear about Bled Island’s iconic 17th-century pilgrimage church decorated with Gothic frescos. As you wind into town through majestic peaks, notice the 11th-century Bled Castle rising high atop a stony bluff.

Next, hop aboard a wooden pletna and enjoy crystal clear waters on your cruise to the Island. Disembark and spend time roaming the Church of the Assumption of Mary (own expense) or sample local Slovenian treats at the island cafe.

After returning from the island, head up to Bled Castle to explore its restored buildings and historic walls. Enter the museum and delve into the castle’s history as you see its artifacts, armor, and weaponry. Then grab stunning panoramic views of the lakes from atop the cliff.

Bled Island

Dive in the lake tradition and ride by pletna boat to the island. Following the boat ride, you get some time to explore the little island and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding area. Optionally, you can enter the Church of the Assumption and even ring the wishing bell, which has been ringing over Lake Bled since 1534.

It's a long day but it's certainly worth it if you have only a weekend or so in the area around Ljubljana.

While this trip is a long day, it is a great way to see some very different and interesting locations in Slovenia.

A Great Day in Slovenia

The tour was definitely worth it. It was my number one thing I wanted to do in Ljubljana and am so glad we did it. It ended up being the highlight of my time in Ljubljana. The caves, castle and lake all were fantastic. I would go see them all again. I have never seen anything like Predjama castle in all my travels. The Postojna Caves were spectacular. I wish had more time to spend in them. Lake Bled is stunning and the castle gives you great sights of the lake and surrounding area. This is a great way to see a lot of Slovenia in a day. If you want to meticulously spend time in one place, this is not the trip for you. But if you are looking to see a lot and spend an adequate time in all the places I would highly recommend this trip. I recommend doing all of the things, paying to see Caves, Predjama Castle, go to the island and visit Lake Bled Castle. I would also recommend not getting the audio guide at Predjama Castle. It takes too much of your time there. Spend it walking around the castle and taking in the sights. If I go back to Ljubljana, I will be booking this tour again.

Nina our guide was very fun and knowledgeable of the sites that we were visiting. We very much enjoyed the cave tour and prejetma castle but felt that Lake Bled while beautiful was a bit too touristy for us.

It was an amazing experience! We were able to see the most interesting places in Slovenia in one day, and every place is so beautiful, it really worthed it. It is a bit expensive though if you buy all tickets, but it's a must-do! The guide was also very nice and funny and shared nice stories about Slovenia.

A great way to see Slovenia in one day, although it is expensive and can feel a bit rushed at times.

This tour was overall fantastic and we were able to see three of Slovenia's major attractions in one day (Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle, and Lake Bled). Our tour guide, Nina, was very nice and helpful in getting us around to the various sites. She also gave short descriptions of each place before we arrived there. Since I was travelling solo and I did not want to rent a car, this was one of my main options to see the caves and the castle (which are not easily accessible via public transportation). My only two complains are as follows: one, the tour does not include entry to any of the sites (as advertised beforehand, so I expected this). Thus, if you pay for all the entries as I did, the total cost including lunch and the tour adds up to almost 200 Euros for the day. Two, because the tour crams three sites into one day, it can feel a bit rushed at times, especially during lunch when I had to order, eat, and pay in about 30 min. We didn't get to spend much time at Lake Bled or Bled Castle before needing to head back to Ljubljana. If you wish to spend more time at Lake Bled/Bled Castle and have a relaxing day, I recommend either renting a car or using the bus to get there and spend the entire day there. I can also recommend to the tour operators to offer an option which only includes Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle as these are the hardest to access via public transport. (If they already offer this option, please ignore this recommendation).

Had a fantastic ‘all day tour’ highly recommended. Be prepared to do some walking, up and down steps, etc wear comfortable shoes. We were only 6 people. Nina, our guide was great! Very patient, knowledgeable and overall caring. Good asset to ‘Slovenia Explorer’ thank you Nina! Oh have some cash/cards available. Entry to the sites are not included!!! Plus add lunch/snacks etc

Our guide Mattei was great! He didn’t rush us on anything, allowed us time to see and enjoy everything! Generally these places are worth visiting! The only downside is that nothing is included in the price so you will need around extra €70 if you want to do everything. At least for the castle and the cave, I would have preferred to have it included in the price and then for Bled, for people to have the choice of what to do. At the beginning I was a bit disappointed that these were not included but at the end of the trip I was overall very satisfied with our guide and the whole day, so not regretting going on this day trip!
