Why Travellers Choose This Tour
Traveling in a luxury Mercedes coach helps make this full day of sightseeing both comfortable and relaxing.
Depart from London and travel out of the city in your air-conditioned coach toward the majestic Windsor Castle. Home of the British Royal Family for 900 years, and location for the 2018 Royal Wedding, Windsor is the world's largest and oldest occupied castle and widely considered one of England’s finest. Explore the lavishly-decorated State Apartments and St George's Chapel with your guide and hear of the castle’s fascinating history and heritage. Continue on through the rolling green Wiltshire landscape to Stonehenge, a collection of stones dragged to this lonely plain near Salisbury 5,000 years ago. This ancient stone circle is still a place of strong spiritual significance, and continues to capture the imagination of the many visitors it welcomes each year. Why the stones were placed here and what purpose they served remains a mystery though, so wander around the site at your leisure and decide for yourself why these age-old rocks have found themselves here. Take a look around the visitors’ center and learn the history of this ancient, mysterious site. During your visit enjoy a free interactive map and VOX personal headset that is exclusive to this tour. Next, hop back in your coach and continue onward to Bath, famous for its elegant Georgian architecture and widely considered one of England’s prettiest cities. Follow your guide on a panoramic tour of Bath and be enchanted by the town's beautiful streets and alleyways, capturing the sites on camera as you go. You'll see Bath Abbey and the much-photographed Pulteney Bridge, modeled on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. During the tour, you will see the city’s famous Roman Baths — the best preserved Roman spa from the ancient world. At the end of your time in Bath, travel back to London’s Victoria Coach Station where your day trip concludes.
This is a great tour for those that want to see everything but have limited time. The tour guide Rhys was very knowledgeable and gave great tips on how to make the best of your time. Our drive James D. Drove a smooth ride even through the winding hills.
Just took the tour with James and Derrick. James was very knowledgable, funny and kept everyone and everything running ontime. I know a lot of people reviewed that there was not enough time in each place. For visiting bath, windsor and stonehenge i felt 1-1 1/2 hours at each place was more than enough time. The tour was great at avoiding long lines, tickets were waiting and all instructions were very clear. James also took the time to snswer all questions and got to know everyone on the tour. Big thsnks to derrick for getting us everywhere on time and a super clean bus. Ask for james snd derrick if you are taking this toyr.
The itinerary for the trip was great. Would have liked to spend a little more time in Bath but schedule must be kept. The hostess was fantastic in keeping the group moving along and provided great narration throughout the trip. The bus was very comfortable. Overall, it was great but because it is only a one day trip, only highlights of the attractions were presented. If want to spend more time at each location, need to go as an individual trip or spend more days.
I'm giving this tour two stars instead of just one star, because I guess to some extent, I should have known that it was too good to be true to be able to visit all three of these sites in one day. So I'm adding a star because I'm going to accept some of the fault for being incredibly disappointed with this tour. First of all, there are far too many people on this tour, which results in a situation where we, the tour goers, create a huge line on our own, not counting all the other tour companies and individuals. By my estimate, this tour alone was made up of at least 5 buses of 50 people. By the time we drove out to Windsor, waited for it to open, and waited in line, we had less than 1.5 hours to tour the chapel and the castle, which is not nearly enough time. In Bath, by the time we had waited in line at the Roman Baths, we had one hour, which meant there was no time to do any exploring of the city at all or even sit down to eat lunch--so make sure to bring food because there is NO time to eat on this tour. Finally, at Stonehenge, we had almost 1.5 hours, which seemed like plenty of time, except for the fact that we had to wait for shuttle buses, which quickly filled up, on the way out to the stones and on the way back, so we had maybe 45 minutes at the stones. So I guess the takeaway is, if you're fine spending six hours in a bus (not an exaggeration) in exchange for no more than 1.5 hours at any of the sites, on a tour made up of hundreds of people, then go for it. I did another tour two days prior to this tour that had only 12 people on it and my experience was VASTLY more positive on that tour. As a side note, I was kind of annoyed by the solicitation of tips by my guide at the end of this tour. I planned on tipping from the beginning, but to have the guide actually bring up the topic was a bit crass in my opinion.
