The views were beautiful and the experience at Kleine Scheidegg was fun....however the tour was very disorganized. There were 3 groups all doing different tours, and it was not explained very well to us where we needed to go and where to meet up at the end. We would have enjoyed a bit more time in Interlaken. We only got about 30 minutes. Finishing the tour was not at all pleasant. We were put into a separate car on the train that only held 4 people. We felt like we were prisoners. Away from the rest of the group which meant we missed out on the commentary from our tour guide. We were not very impressed with our guide Trudi. Her knowledge of the area was good but she was not a good leader. We do not feel that the cost of this tour was worth what we got out of it. We did an independant tour at Zermatt and the Matterhorn which we enjoyed far more than this, and was comparable in price.
The only good: our guide Peter was very informative. But this is just a terrible tour. They cram three different tours on one bus. Their man focus is the Jungfrau group so the guide stays with them and you get stuck in Klein sheidigg for FOUR hours. It was raining and foggy. Nothing to see or do
The description for this tour needs to change. Not only that, but you can purchase the tour for much cheaper while in Switzerland. There were four hours at Kleine Scheidegg and no maps for hiking tours. Additionally, most everything was closed. The guide didn't even offer adding the tour to the top which I would have added just to have something to do. Not sure what the tour in Interlaken was supposed to consist of, but our guide just told us to go down the street and buy sandwiches. I really regret spending my money on this.
We took the Oberland Alps Day Trip Kleine Scheidegg from Lucerne. The coach was very nice, the guide was knowledgeable and the train rides had spectacular views. We enjoyed the time at Kleine Scheidegg and walked to the Lake and had numerous photo ops in the area. We brought our own sandwiches and enjoyed a beer at the outdoor restaurant. It was a full day trip and good value. We were on a river cruise and they offered a similar trip for nearly double the price.
Quite simply there was nothing to do at Kleines Scheidegg during April. We thought we could go hiking as recommended by the tour itinerary but it was snowing with poor visibility. Viatour needs to change its recommendations and give better advice on what you can do depending on the time of yr.
