Your tour starts with pickup by motor coach at designated locations in Nashua and Bedford, hotels in southern New Hampshire, or select Boston hotels for the drive to Lowell, Massachusetts, where you'll gain insight into the Industrial Revolution at Lowell National Historical Park. Your time here introduces you to the 19th-century textile industry, the water power supplied by the Merrimack River, and the past's cultural connections to today and the future.
Start at the Visitor Center for orientation before listening to the roar of the power looms at Boott Cotton Mills Museum. Learn about the social lives of mill employees at the Mill Girls & Immigrants Exhibit, and discover how the industrialization changed the Merrimack River at the River Transformed Exhibit. You'll also receive a ranger-guided tour via the park's trolleys to hear more about the history of Lowell. Lunch at one of Lowell’s ethnic restaurants is included.
When your time at the park is up, you'll be returned to your original departure point.
