A great day out from start to finish.
Pick up was on schedule and journey was relatively comfortable with one comfort break on the way (and one on the way back).
The guide, Ibrahim, was entertaining, very knowledgeable and made a point to let everyone know about the local scammers (charging for pictures with the monkeys).
The falls were spectacular and the pontoon ride at the bottom was definitely worth the 20 Dirhams for the photo opportunities.
The walk back to the top of the waterfall, via the monkeys, seemed a little difficult for some of the group so this trip may not be suitable for the less active.
The lunch at the end was unspectacular for 100 Dirhams, but hey, you didn't travel 3 hours for the lunch.
A couple of tips.
Make sure you take your own toilet paper unless you are happy to go without!
Also, take your own fruit to feed the monkeys at the waterfalls, they prefer it to the nuts on sale.
The waterfall is stunning however after our walk (between 1 - 2hrs) to the the waterfalls everything was so rushed! We all wanted to spend a bit more time relaxing and enjoying ourselves however, our guide rushed us upstairs where we spent more time in the restaurant than anything else.
I was looking forward to this trip but the group was too large, the guide wasn't great. I would not recommend this to anyone.
Choose a different tour!!
Tour operator picked us up from the hotel on time. On arriving at the falls, three tour groups were combined into one large group with a single guide (30-40 people). The guide refused to tell us when the buses would be leaving so we couldn't go off on our own. We were then hered around the falls like sheep being told little information about the area, the guide seemed in a rush to take us to his restaurant where we were expected to pay 100 MAD for food, before being shown back to the bus.
Overall, the falls are a disappointment, far to many tourists and locals trying to sell overpriced junk to visitors, the area around the falls is filled with ramshackle buildings and huts. Its really not worth the time or the money to visit
Would recommend this trip! Worth the money! Started off with a bit of a panic as the driver came to pick us up from our hotel late, we weren't sure if we had been left, I had to call 3 different numbers before I got in contact with someone who eventually told me the driver was on his way. But besides that, everything was great, long journey but there's a short break in between. We got to the place and had a good tour guide, got to see how the locals live, the falls are amazing and we got some beautiful photos, went on a little boat ride and fed the monkeys. Finished the day with food at a nice little restaurant. We went at the beginning of June and it was sooo hot so would recommend wearing a hat and sunscreen and also comfortable shoes for walking in.
The road is long but worth it, the falls are just so beautiful !
Our guide Lachen was perfect and explaining everything very clearly ! He also didn't push any kind of sales and helped us with the monkeys without having to pay the guys that are there !
Very nice tour we appreciated !
The pick up was smooth, the 3.5 hour journey was comfortable in an aircon mini bus with a toilet stop halfway. The group was quite large of about 30 people but this was not a problem. The information provided was well delivered with humour and interesting. The walk was steady and the waterfalls were amazing, 100% recommend jumping in! Other people I spoke to had lunch included in their Ozoud trip, this one lunch is not included, they take you to a reasturant with a nice view but the food was not great, small portions and expensive for morocco, 100dirhams. I'd expect the food to be included in the price or a better reasturant.
We greatly enjoyed our trip to the Ouzoud Falls! Although a far drive (2.5-3hrs one way) it was a much needed escape from the bustle of Marrakech. Riad pickup was confirmed the day before and everything went smoothly. Tour guide (Ibrahim) was educational, entertaining, and a joy with his jokes and fluency of many languages. It is a fast paced tour so be efficient with photos and spending time with the monkeys. Be careful of the locals forcing peanuts into your hand then expecting payment. Overall, I highly recommend this trip!
We had amazing time! Journey goes smoothly, our tour guide Ibrahim went above and beyond to make us have fun. One of the best excursions we have ever been on. Also the price is very good (hotel where we are staying is offering the same for twice the money). Will recommend this trip to everyone who will go to Morocco.
