Take a walk along the history of jazz with a thorough and great storyteller.
Josephine_U, Jul 2022
Our guide, Harris, was very knowledgeable and thorough in retelling the history of Jazz in New Orleans. The walk was great too, as he placed us in the center of the activity and monuments —-capped off by a beer while listening to a live band!
Not worth the money
Vickie_D, Jun 2021
Guide kept losing his focus. To call this a “jazz music tour” is very misleading. We expected to actually hear music - live. We got a few poor quality snippets from his hand held speaker. Mostly couldn’t find the recordings on his phone. Ended up in back room in bar playing “blues”. A lot of history about the folks that birthed the “sound” that was very interesting but too much rambling talk and no music.

Nice tour.
Stevens_Y, Aug 2021
The tour was very informative. Our tour guide Harris Parson who is also a drummer took us on a historical trail in jazz. Love it! Thank you.
New Orleans Jazz
Jennifer_L, Apr 2022
This was so interesting. Harris taught me lots about the history of jazz, as well as history of the French Quarter. I had a great time!
Emphasize that this is a walking tour!!
Deborah_L, Jun 2021
Harris was so full of information! We learned so much about the culture of New Orleans and the history of jazz! One note however. Viator needs to emphasize this as a walking tour. A family joined us with two elderly grandparents. One was in a wheelchair and the other walked with difficulty with a cane. They took turns in the wheelchair. Harris was so accommodating to them but the situation definitely hampered the experience for the rest of us.
Fabulous tour
Nicole_R, Jun 2021
Fabulous tour. Harris really knew his Jazz and New Orleans history. We meet the owner of Tennessee Williams home and have us a tour of the inside patio/garden area. Harris made sure we were able to watch a Jazz band play.
Amazing History of Jazz
Danielle_B, Oct 2021
Great time during our tour and learning the history behind New Orleans. We had an amazing time which led us to Frenchmen Street and couldn't get enough of it. Our tour guy was very knowledgeable and such a pleasure. We traveled in May 2021 and we couldn't ask for better weather. We did end up going back to Frenchmen Street after our tour as well.
Jazz Tour

Our guide, Harris Parsons, was the best. He found us an awesome place to listen to jazz on Frenchman Street after a very fun and informative tour. Even followed up the next day with information we asked for.

Not much of a music history tour
Ashley_B, Dec 2021
My husband and I booked this tour a few years ago, and it was great! So we rebooked it in Dec 2021 with my parents. Unfortunately for us, this time was not very good. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, but it was too much info for us. After 2 hours, we still weren’t at Frenchman St, and hadn’t heard any music. We ended up leaving the group, and went to Palm Court (based off our tour guides suggestion). Palm Court was AMAZING!!! Overall, I will never book again, and I definitely wouldn’t suggest this for anyone who wants to see live music. But, our tour guide was so knowledgeable, we got a combo tour (history, ghost, and a little music). If you aren’t looking for just music, you might like it. We wanted a music history tour, and therefore would not suggest.

Great tour of the places to see and learn about jazz....and we got to see some Baby Dolls!
Greta_B, Mar 2022
So happy we went for the private tour option. So happy we had Harris leading the tour. We could not have asked for a more knowledgable person for a guide. We felt like we were provided with true local knowledge about all things jazz. My 90 year old jazz fanatic father even learned a few things. :)
Lots of history
Sandra_W, May 2021
Harris was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and a great sense of humor! He made sure he covered all bases.

He also sent us a summary of what he discussed and selected other very helpful recommendations and information !
Jazz tour is a must!
Shelly_I, May 2022
Harris Parson was our amazing private tour guide. He brought his oral historical knowledge with such a sensitive approach. It was highly interesting . We learned a lot, walk the area, saw some great Jazz show, had a beer together and got the Jazz feeling of the city. Highly recommend!!!

Extraordinary experience!
Connie_R, Nov 2021
This tour is truly a remarkable experience! Harris Parson was our guide through an extraordinary cultural history of New Orleans jazz. Harris, a native of New Orleans and musician is able to answer any questions about New Orleans jazz whether you are like my husband and me with very limited knowledge or a jazz/music aficionado. The music we experienced of Marla Dixon and the Shotgun Jazz Band was fabulous. You will evolve with this experience and want more! In fact, Harris followed up by sending me the information I requested so I can continue my jazz journey. As Harris told us, “Remember we only meet you once and then you are part of our family”. You will feel like this. Don’t miss this experience-we highly recommend this tour with Harris!
