Amsterdam and Bruges - 2/14

Great experience for the price! The ferry to bus transportation definitely wasn't luxurious, but the hotel, tour guide, and cheese/clog farm were fantastic.

Bath and Stonehenge Day Trip from Oxford | Feb 2020
Our tour was very well organized and well planned. We had audio tours of Stonehenge then Sam gave us a terrific walking tour of Bath. It was a 1-2 hour bus ride between stops and our bus driver, Andy, got us there safe and sound. It was a very nice day and we enjoyed the trip.

Tour not as advertised

Amsterdam and Bruges Weekend Tour from London | Feb 2020
This tour was a disappointment. The tour description didn’t provide accurate and enough information. A few good things first: The tour guide was friendly and punctual. The pick-up point was perfectly described. I enjoyed the walking tour in Amsterdam and the canal boat ride (added for €15). However, travelers need to know what to expect from their tour. For example, here is the tour overview description: “Use overnight ferry transport to maximise your time in Amsterdam and Bruges.” What it does not mention is you travel by bus from Victoria Station to a rest area where you switch buses. Then you take that bus and drive on to the overnight ferry for 90 minutes. Around 3 a.m. you board the bus again, drive 3+ hours through France, stop and buy breakfast, and drive to Amsterdam. [note: the bus (“Pegasus Coaches”) has charging stations with usb access. This was nice. No wifi.] Under “What to Expect” in the tour description, it lists several stops such as the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum as “Admission Ticket Free.” This is only true if you are 18 and under or a member. Another unfortunate detail is that you can’t check into your accommodation (included in the tour fee) until 6 p.m. That is a struggle particularly when you have had very little sleep and would like a short nap. First-time travelers should also know that Amsterdam reeks of pot. If you have breathing issues, this is good to know in advance because it will affect you. Our tour guide let us know about the wide availability of (pot) “edibles,” and that was a useful cautionary note. Back to the night ferry: the bus drives on to the ferry and parks. Then you are directed upstairs where there are couches and chairs, bathrooms, an arcade, café and vending. You feel the motion of the ferry, but none of us were bothered by it. Lastly, consider using Amsterdam transportation during your free time. I was struck by how clean and efficient it was. Even the train doors open quietly. Reviews often answer extra questions and that is what I am trying to do here. When I booked this tour, there was only one review listed. I hope this will be helpful to future travelers.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the visits very much. We were not able to get the audio guides for Stonehenge however, which would have helped a lot.

Not enough time

Full-Day Bath and Stonehenge Tour from Oxford | Jul 2019
Well, the trip started very late since some people arrived 15 minutes later. That meant not have enough time at Stonehenge. There was another thing: you have to take in mind that there'll not be anyone guiding you but just an audioguide. There you will have almost only an hour. Then, to go to Bath, you'll have only 20 minutes someone guiding you and then you'll be by yourself going inside the Roman bath's and knowing most important places your own. And only will have 2 hours and a half, that isn't enough time

Blenheim Palace and Cotswolds Day Trip from Oxford | May 2019
The guide was excessively rushed and walked so fast that most people had a hard time keeping up, then went through his presentation and started off before everyone was there to hear him. Don' bother renting the audio ' guides' at Blenheim as each room had a total length of 75 - 90 SECONDS on the tape and didn't provide any real information.

Blenheim is spectacular as is Bourton on the water. The guide was not informative, it was basically just transport to and from these locations. Public transport would have offered the same experience.

Edinburgh and the Highlands Weekend Tour from London | Sep 2018

If you take this tour be aware that it departs at 10:00 pm from Hatton Cross Station which way out there towards Heathrow. We took the tube from central London about 1 hour. When we got to the station we thought we could grab some snacks to take with us on our overnight coach ride. The station is not what you would expect. The little convenience store was already closed and there were no restrooms. We had to cross a busy highway there were crossing lights in the dark and walk over to a gas station where they had a store and toilets. The ride up went smoothly. When we arrived in Edinburgh we immediately started our walking tour. My husband and I broke off from the group because we are older most people were young students and were afraid we wouldn't be able to keep up. We took a Hop-on Hop-off tour on our own. That went well and we loved the city of Edinburgh. We met our coach and tour guide Richard back at the drop off point at 7 pm and headed off toward our accommodations, making a couple of stops along the way. We stayed at Stirling College in Stirling quiet a ways from Edinburgh. We arrived on campus around 8:30 and were dropped off and given keys to our dorm room. We shared and apartment with 5 other people. The room was so small that we had to climb over each other to get out of bed to go down the hall and use the bathroom during the night. At first we had no towels and there, of course no toiletries or even a cup to use in brushing our teeth. I called Richard to tell him and he told me I had to walk back to reception to ask for towels. I did that and the young man was surprised that we had no towels. He immediately came up with towels for everyone in the apartment and showed us where we could find cups in a kitchenette attached to the dorm rooms. Apparently, Richard did tell the group that they should eat while in town but since most of the students were foreigners and had very limited English, most of them went without having eaten and had to wait til breakfast. Breakfast was served across campus, supposedly at 7:30 when we got there they said it was only served at 8:00 and we were to meet back at the bus for 8:30. We were given not direction on how to get to breakfast some people had maps of the campus that were not very detailed, others us had no maps. That morning we had to walk .8 miles in the rain not certain where we were going and then walk back .8 miles to where the bus was parked near our dorms. When asked why we couldn't be taken as a group to breakfast by bus for the following day, our guide said he'd think about it. As it turned out he decided against it. Scotland itself was beautiful and we saw some breathtaking sites. We've used Viator several times and had no complaints but this was different. The guide was not very good at communicating and not open to suggestions. While it is true that the tour description does say that during high times the three star hotel would be substituted by a dorm, I don't see that this particular dorm was at all comparable to a three star hotel. The walls of our room were made of particle board, no place to get something to eat aside from breakfast, sharing a bathroom with six people, no toiletries, etc. If they knew we would be staying in the dorm at least make an attempt at better conditions and service or give a discount on the price. Because of this experience I will be very careful of checking out the actual provider of future tours. I have to tell you that I am a very easy-going person and extensive world traveler who is used to all kinds of experiences but this was definitely not what I expected of Viator.

Long coach trip

Full-Day Bath and Stonehenge Tour from Brighton | Jul 2018
Bath and Stonehenge both are interesting places to visit. Also, they are well known tourist attractions, so expect them to be crowded. The time spent on each location was unfortunately very short. This wasn't helped by some of the young people attending the trip not paying attention to the guide's very clearly expressed demand to promptly follow the given time table. For example, more than half an hour had to be spent on waiting for persons who had

Cambridge Tour from London Including a Walking Tour | Jul 2018
We wandered the station looking for 9 3/4 platform. No one could give us directions. We asked information, security staff, etc. Even the stores at 9 3/4 Harry Potter said they didn't know anything about it. Time was up, so we bought our own tickets to Cambridge, paid for a Hop-on-Hop Off with Punting and had a great time without the Evan Evans tour.

Literally the worst trip ever

3-Day Paris and Versailles Tour from London | Jul 2018
The only reason this gets a 2 star is because of the tour guide and the bus driver who were both so nice and very patient. I traveled solo on this trip and expected to go on a tour with people around my age (23). But instead i was put on a tour with a bunch of high schoolers around ages of 14 - 17 touring from Spain and Argentina. The bus was extremely noisy throughout the tour, with kids kicking my chair, singing and shouting. And they also made a huge mess out of the bus, it smelt so bad and was filled with liter. Honestly if i had known, i wouldn't have booked this tour at all, was highly disappointed overall.

Bath and Stonehenge Day Trip from Oxford | Feb 2018

This was a great tour to go on! It was a big, nice air-conditioned coach that took us there. Bath and Stonehenge were both things that I wanted to do while in England, so what better way than to kill two birds with one stone? We had ample time in both Stonehenge and Bath. The guided tour in Bath was really informative, and then we had a couple hours on our own to just walk the streets and explore. Really recommend this tour!

Bath and Stonehenge Day Trip from Oxford | Feb 2018

This tour was fantastic! Truly the perfect way to see Stonehenge and Bath. The guide was personable and helpful and overall great. If you are booking this tour for the winter months, be prepared for Stonehenge to be COLD and WINDY. Don't let the cold stop you though! It's less crowded in the winter. I took a group of 11 people and we all highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in seeing both places!
