Calling all nature lovers! This day trip to Soberanía National Park takes you on a guided walk through lush vegetation along Pipeline Road in search of abundant birds and other wildlife. With 385 bird species officially counted in just one day, the 10-mile (17-km) road features some of the best birdwatching opportunities in Panama.
After morning pickup from your downtown Panama City hotel, an approximate 20-minute drive takes you to the entrance of Soberanía National Park, located near the banks of the Panama Canal. Set out on foot with your naturalist guide, whose knowledge of the biodiverse flora and fauna helps you identify native birds, butterflies and primates that inhabit the tropical forest.
As you make your way along the scenic hiking trail, stop for breaks and learn more about the region’s typical plant and animal life. Keep an eye out for toucans, three-toed sloths and howler monkeys as you walk to a waterfall for a refreshing dip.
Afterward, return on foot to your vehicle for the return drive to Panama City, where your 6-hour tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
