Depart your central Qingdao hotel with your guide, and set off by private, air-conditioned vehicle.
On route, hear how Qingdao, today known for its skyscrapers, beaches, and parks; was a modest fishing port until cessation by Germany in 1899. During the 16-year cessation and decades following, it developed into a major port city.
Climb through Xiaoyushan Park (Little Fish Hill Park), a classical-style garden offering panoramic city views, and explore the Badaguan Scenic Reserve, whose leafy avenues and villas were built by the British, Swiss, and other nationalities.
Explore Xiao Qingdao Park (Qingdao Island), which lent the city its name, admiring its botanical gardens and German-built lighthouse.
After a break for a Chinese lunch, stroll along Zhanqiao pier, built in 1891 to enable larger vessels to dock at Qingdao. Today, the pier stretches 1,312 feet (400 meters) into Qingdao Bay, and boasts a Chinese-style pavilion at one end.
Then, take in the German-style architecture and twin-towered St Michael’s Catholic Church of the charming Zhejiang Road area, Qingdao’s oldest district.
Finally, tour the 1903 Tsingtao Brewery, built for Qingdao’s one-time German population. See the facilities here, and taste some of the famous beer before your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.

The tour was great! Qingdao is a beautiful city and this tour shows you all the great sites around town. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly! We were a group of three people with two of us being over 70 years of age. He took his time and made sure we were well taken care of during the day.
