Martin was a very knowledgeable guide and took the time to answer our groups questions. It was nice to see the vineyards and be able to taste some of the grapes left on the vines. Beautiful views. Could spend a week in the champagne region, but if you are limited on time, this 1/2 day (about 4 hours) tour is perfect.
We were really impressed with this tour. Our tour guide, Henry, expertly blended history and technique with the opportunity to taste some great champagne! He really understood pacing and keeping interest levels high, while still leaving time to taste. The coolest aspect of this tour for us was that Henry had direct experience in champagne production, so the Houses kind of gave him free reign in showing us the different tools of the trade. He showed us how the mechanized parts of the process work, which definitely isn't something you get to see every day. This is the perfect tour for anyone looking to drink a bit and learn a bit. ;)
I wasn’t sure at first when I booked this tour because while it sounds good, they don’t mention the names of the houses you visit and like most Americans my knowledge of champagne is limited. The tour ended up being AMAZING!!! Our guide is from a 6th generation champagne producing family and knows the industry inside out. The houses we went to are local but the quality of the champagne we drank was outstanding. We were treated like friends stopping by for a drink not tourists. A piece of advice, they will drive you to the Dom Perignon vineyards with a view that will take your breath away. It was so special I ended up proposing there, a story (and pictures) we will have for the rest of our lives.
Treat yourself to this experience!! This tour is fun, educational, and tasty, we haven’t stopped talking about it!! I would do it again if we made it back to town.
