What To Expect

Begin your full-day tour with pickup from your hotel in the Reykjavik area between 830am and 9am. Meet your guide and small group of no more than 19, and settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Then, set out into Iceland’s stark countryside on your 11-hour tour. On route, listen to intriguing facts about the country, hearing about its history, geology, and culture from your guide.

Head into UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle sights. Learn how it lies within a belt of volcanic activity, and is home to the mid-Atlantic ridge, where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia face each other over a valley. Walk between the plates as you hear how they are gradually moving further apart, and savor the experience of straddling the two continents.

Take a detour from the Golden Circle to visit the Kerid (Kerið) crater, a 3,000-year-old crater filled with a lake. Peer into the 180-foot (55-meter) deep hollow, and admire the magical-looking blue lake cradled by the red- and green-colored slopes.

Visit the Geysir geothermal area, exploring the surreal-looking landscapes on foot. View the bubbling ponds and steam vents, and see the Geysir and Strokkur geysers, the latter shooting water up to 98 feet (30 meters) every five to 10 minutes.

Stop at the Gulfoss Waterfall, taking in this beautiful 105-foot (32-meter) fall, and then continue to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lava-sculpted countryside.

Head inside (own expense, with pre-booking of your admission ticket required) and change into your bathing suit. Then, enjoy a long soak in the warm, therapeutic waters, lying back in the steam and admiring the lava fields as you bathe.

After about two hours here, your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in Reykjavik.

Thingvellir National Park

Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.

Laugarvatn (Pass By)

Laugarvatn sits next to a beautiful lake of the same name in a geothermally active area. The plumes of super-heated vapor billowing into the air in this area are used by the locals to bake rye bread in the ground!

Stay on time to get extra stops
Georgina_D, Apr 2022
This tour is operated by Nice Travel on a minibus with no more than 19 people. The bus is really comfy with USB chargers. We were collected on time from a bus stop near our hotel in the centre of Reykjavik and all information was sent days before we travelled. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the first settlers and geography of the area which he presented whilst driving between each stop. The whole day went really quickly but we didn’t feel rushed at any of the stops and were free to explore in our family group. If you stay on time then you get lots of extra stops. Our extra stops included a lake where rye bread was cooking in the ground and the water was bubbling up from the ground, a dairy farm serving delicious ice cream and coffees, a few quick viewpoints, Icelandic ponies, a detour past the tomato farm and a drive over bridges crossing the crystal clear river flowing from the Selfoss Waterfall. Tips- take a packed lunch. Food is very expensive in Iceland and the cafes at the main locations get really busy which reduces the time you have to see the geography. We had a picnic on a bench watching the geyser which was awesome as we saw it go up a dozen times. (Sometimes twice in a row so keep your camera out) Follow the instructions to condition your hair at the blue lagoon! We put a little on and our hair was full of minerals for days after. Rinse and shampoo 2/3 times when you get out of the water and put conditioner on overnight. The silica doesn’t damage your hair but makes it feel really dry and difficult to brush. We took children ages 6 and 9. They were well entertained for the day and enjoyed every moment. Thank you for a memorable day through a magical landscape.
Awesome tour

The entire trip was excellent. Our tour guide Magnus was informative and very helpful, and made the trip fun as well as educational. The highlight was definitely the Blue Lagoon, but the waterfalls, volcanic crater and geyser were also great to visit.
Solid Gold Circle Tour
Nikola_M, Nov 2022
What a wonderful tour! The narration was clear and insightful, the bus was comfortable, it was a nice itinerary with just the right amount of walking to see the major sights of the Golden Circle. The “coup de Gras” was the relaxing finish at the Blue Lagoon - perfect bathing in volcanic minerals waters at an ideal temperature, one free drink included. Magnus our tour guide was safe and caring and went above and beyond.
Excellent action packed day
HANS_W, Nov 2022
This was an excellent day trip. We saw all the main geological sights and even had extra time to visit the thermally heated greenhouses and a beautiful old historic church, with a live singer; who was our very own knowledgeable guide and driver. The Blue lagoon visit in the evening was the perfect finish to a busy, activity packed day. Thanks for some great Icelandic memories.

Perfect place to go! You’ll regret it if you don’t!
Donna_S, Nov 2022
What a wonderful time! I was very impressed at how accommodating and caring staff was, and generally how friendly everyone was. They explained what to do with my long hair, locker rooms were very clean and the bracelet system they have to lock lockers is brilliant. Hair dryers worked well and they even provide shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the showers. And of course the pools were heavenly.
Great opportunity to explore some of Iceland's natural beauty in a day
Eleanor_P, Oct 2022
Awesome day! Took this tour on our first full day in Iceland. Will need to walk some but if you choose to not walk as much because of mobility issues or weather you don't have to. Easy and efficient pickup - got to see some of the unique natural landmarks in the country as well as the gorgeous Icelandic scenery between each stop. Well thought out day with a perfect ending at the Blue Lagoon to relax a couple hours before returning (although lots of tourists!). Thor was amazing - very knowledgeable and passionate about Iceland and all of its beauty.

Brilliant experience
Josie_M, Oct 2022
Myself and my parents had wonderful time! Our guide was called Ingo, he was very good, had lots of information on iceland and facts about each place we saw, the van was comfortable to travel in. We had enough time to visit all of the places never feeling rushed to get back, the blue lagoon was so good! you get your ticket separately we got the premium one (not knowing) which includes a robe and 3 face mask and free drink, where the normal one is just towel and one face mask and free drink. If we was running ahead of schedule Ingo stopped off so we could see extra views and feed some horses which was nice, we felt very looked after and enjoyed the whole day, definitely recommend!
Good introduction to the landscape of Iceland
William_P, Sept 2022
The water falls along the south coast are interesting as well as the black sand beach. There are hours of driving for a few outstanding stops, thus only four stars instead of five. The driver provided interesting commentary on the sights as well as Icelandic history and culture.

The whole tour was an amazing experience from start to finish! Our host Magnus Gunnarsson was a great host, very knowledgable, friendly and funny. The trip is very organised, the bus is comfortable and Magnus even allowed us to see extra things which was a bonus. 100% recommend!!

Carmen_S, Aug 2022
Our tour guide Jonas made the tour. He even took us to other places that were not on the schedule. He gave us so much history and information and gave excellent tips on what to do at each place we visited such as how to avoid the tourist traps and always made sure he picked us up at a location so we didn't have to walk that far. The places we visited were most beautiful and memorable.
Great trip

Superb trip to the most beautiful destinations
Steisi_M, Jul 2022
Super cool trip with a comfortable van and really nice and fun guide named Vlad. We were able to see so much in just one day including waterfalls, geysir, national park, crater and then enjoying the blue lagoon relaxation. There was enough time to visit and take pics during each stop and there were many opportunities for coffee, bathroom and meals during the trip. Friendly atmosphere and spectacular views. I’d highly recommend it as it’s a must-have trip in Iceland especially if you’re not staying long in Iceland.
Excellent experience!...
